A good exposure!

Remarks :

Apart from the infrastructure and few of the faculty, this place is good for learning lot of new things, getting good grades and allocating ample time to prepare for competitive exams. I had a positive experience passing out from this college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This college is affiliated to the Anna University. The course is for 4 years which consists of 8 semesters. The syllabus of ECE is one of the toughest as you have to study a lot about circuits and their characteristics. The 1st year is mostly common for all the branches as the syllabus mainly comprises subjects like Physics, Chemistry, etc., which you have already studied in school. The core subjects will come into picture in the 2nd year only.

Placement Experience :

The companies which come for placement here are mostly IT companies. The package is pretty good around 3 to 4 lakhs per year. On rare occasions, core companies may come with a higher package, which we call it as "dream company". My college doesn't provide any internship I've known of.

College Events :

Every year at the time of August-September, technical symposiums are conducted by all the departments. Students from various colleges come here to participate and win exciting prizes. Also, college day is celebrated every year during March where various cultural events will take place. Sports day takes place during the time of January-February.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

For students who get admission through counselling, the fee is around 40k, which is one of the main reasons why the students prefer this college. The management fee is pretty expensive depending upon the cutoff you get.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college provides good scholarship for students who are from backward caste. You must provide a valid community certificate and income certificate to avail the loan facility. The scholarship amount will be provided upto 20% of the actual fees paid.

Campus Life :

There will be gardening every week to maintain cleanliness in the college. Computer labs are clean and well maintained. ECE labs may have old equipments which is a burden at times to get the desired output. Sports like football, carrom, cricket, etc. are famous in this college and every year sports day will be conducted to award prizes for the department with best overall performance.

Alumni/Alumna :

Senior students are the best. They are very friendly and you can ask them for any help and they will do without any hesitation. Be it studies or anything, they will be a good friend and a mentor for you.

Admission :

I got here through management as I studied in a CBSE school. I chose ECE and the management fee is less for me as I got a good cut off. I tried for SSN college of engineering, but since I'm not able to clear the entrance test, I chose the next best thing which is very near to my house, this college.

Faculty :

Coming to the faculty part, it's one of the cons in the ECE department. There are many who don't know what they are teaching and we have to study by ourselves only. Only a few teachers have a good knowledge about the subject.

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
