Course Curriculum Overview :

History is a field which is unexplored in all the senses. Here, the importance of History is taught and given the utmost priority. The subjects also include Political Science and education along with History. Since its an honors degree, History is the main subject of focus and the major subject. We do not have any practicals in the course. It is all theory, but whatever the syllabus is, it is sure to amaze all history enthusiasts.

College Events :

There is an annual athletics meet which takes place in our campus. Many departments form groups and there are matches in many sports between the departments. Prizes are awarded to the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Along with an athletics meet, there is a cultural meet which also takes place annually. There are dance, singing, drama etc competitions on individual and group basis. Prizes are given to the winners of these various competitions as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee for one academic year for B.A. Honors in History subject rounds up to Rs.2600. I find it very feasible and affordable, for the quality of education and the infrastructure and other facilities this college provides. When everyone in the college is helpful, supportive and approachable, paying this much amount of fees feels worth it because you know you are in a good environment academically.

Campus Life :

We have a huge library, which has also digitalised itself, so students can know which books are available at their mobile screens and easily accessible. We also have a Geography and English laboratory so that students can access information related to these subjects easily during working hours. There is also an auditorium in the campus for conducting workshops, seminars and guest lectures which has a capacity of holding up to 400-500 students. A group of students have also started college magazine where students passionate about writing and others as well take part in the formation of magazine actively. The magazine is in Bengali and English.

Alumni/Alumna :

The senior students help us in every way possible for them. The alumni network is very strong and also conducts Blood donation camps, health drives and seminars, awareness campaigns etc. so they can make the students participate in extra curricular activities. The Association of Alumni was created long back, around 2002-2003. Since then, it has received successful response and active participation from all the students.

Admission :

I had taken admission for Bachelors of Arts in History and the procedure then was through online means. We had to fill an online application form and upload all the necessary documents online itself. On the basis of the documents uploaded and the eligibility criteria, there would be a merit list which will be released on any particular date given by the management. That is how you know that you have been selected.

Faculty :

The faculty is amazing and they will behave as friends with the students. They are approachable and extremely intelligent teachers. Two of the assistant professors have done their M.Phil. in History. All the teachers have a M.A. degree in History. Teachers tell us about their wonderful experiences and findings during their journey all this while. It is interesting to listen to an experienced person imparting their observations and views on the world. History department has one of the talented faculties in the college.

Curriculum was overall good but it's a bit pressure also. But as everyone knows good things required hard work. So I really enjoyed the whole course during the college years. There are two exams. One is internal of 25 marks and second one is of 75 marks, which is external.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is essential to guide teachers in what to teach and, how much depth of knowledge is needed for that grade and a timeline to follow so the year will be completed. I wouldn't eliminate content without background we cannot form good, rational and educated conclusions. We still giving timed tests.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a complex and vast one, with multiple areas in focus, which itself is a merit as it serves its purpose in training a Christian minister for all the challenges. The course is more praxis than a confined theoretical classroom. Certain improvements in teaching methods can be brought up. Teachers must ensure the students' study and find some way to monitor it. Otherwise students tend to get stuck in the wide array of topics to study and somehow just find it difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This curriculum is enriched with literature works by British and American writers which is really enjoyable to read and the Teachers make it more exciting. Teachers are really good at explaining every single point in the syllabus. In the history of literature part they give us notes about each and every write a and there works so that we are familiar with most of the part of our syllabus. They does not teach only for the exams but they make sure that we learn everything with depth. We have a semester exams in every 6 month but sometimes it becomes 7 or 5. But the teachers are really supportive so that we don't panic in our exams.
