Remarks :

Positive 1. Free 24*7 WiFi campus 2. Canteen. Food are available there at lowe cost. Price of a biriyani is rs50 outside it's 80 3. College bus facility for different routes 4. College store Negetive 1. The major negetive remarks of my college is they are not giving permission for going IV( Industrial Visi) got 3rd year students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Our university is Dr. APJ Abdul kalam university (KTU). All students must need to get minimum credits otherwise they shall not be enter in to the next year. All students need to get a minimum of 23 marks out of 50 on sectional exam and 75 % attendance in each subjects otherwise they shall not be eligible to write the end semester exams. 45% marks is needed to pass a subject. 6 subject in each semester. Total 8 semester. There is only 4 subjects in final semester. So a total of 46 paper is needed to the passed.

Placement Experience :

College is not providing internship. Placement and job opportunities are very less for civil engineering department. Other departments like computer science, information technology, electronics and communication have many placement opportunities. Recently 4 students in my class got place in Infosys.

College Events :

Here are the list of events. 1. COLLEGE DAY 2. ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 3. ARTS 4. CAPE ARTS 5 UNION DAY 6. ONAM CELEBRATION 7. CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION 8. HOLY CELEBRATION 9. FLOOD LIGHT CRICKET TOURNAMENT (2 times) 10. FLOOD LIGHT FOOT BALL TOURNAMENT 11. EPL CRICKET (Engineers premier League) 12. EPL FOOTBALL these are the official celebrations. Many other unofficial celebrations are there children's Day, Kerala piravi etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Its feasible. Merit list students have to pay 35000 per Year and management list students have to pay 70000 per year as annual fee. I don't know tha fee structure of NRI students. Also the SC/ST students has consession in these annual fee. Kerala government is providing scholarship for the students who cleared all papers on first chance. All they need to do is just apply for these scholarships.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Kadirur service cooperative Bank is located attached to my college.They are providing various loans for students. Its very easy to take loans from there. And kerela government is providing many scholarship for students. Students can opt which scholarship they wanted to.

Campus Life :

Recently our college (college of engineering thalassery) has successfully conducted their first ever annual sports meet in the history. It was a great success. Electronics and communication department is the overall champions and civil engineering department is the runners up in the annual sports meet.

Hostel Facilities :

No Men hostel in my college. Ladies hosted is there. All I knew is facilities of the hostel is very nce, the hostel fees too. They are providing break fast, lunch, evening snacks and tea , dinner for students who are there in the hostel. I didn't ever went to this hostel (because ladies hostel) so I don't know the clearness, and the facility available there.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Ofcourse alumni association are very helpful. They provide fund for modifying , improving and implementing infrastructure in the college like stone benches, gardens, fish ponds etc. They already have sponsored may items to the college and may more are coming.

Admission :

I succeeded in KEAM examination( Engineering and medical entrance examination in Kerala). I applied for civil engineering, not only civil engineering but aplled for various courses in different colleges (both government and AIDED) in different district. In the trial allotment I got admission on the course aeronautical engineering in CUSAT, then I changed my preferences( both college and course). Then the first allotment came and I got admission in college of engineering thalassery on the course civil engineering. After that my name in the list never changed even after the 4th allotment too. This is the way I joined my college.

Faculty :

Our faculty members are very friendly in behaviour, have a lot of knowledge. They always clear my doubts every time we ask. Their lecture classes are very good. All students will understand what they are teaching. They give many advises on different topics as well.

NIT Cailcut-The Good,Bad and the Ugly

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for campus placements by the beginning of the 4th year.High paying companies are attracted by the placement cell which offer good packages to the students. The average packages for the circuital branch are pretty high. Each year about 200 companies are invited. The highest package for Electrical and Electronics has gone upto 38LPA with average package of about 14LPA in the graduation year 2024.About 128 students had registered out of which 120 students were placed.The minimum salary offered was 5LPA.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Students who have completed their sixth semester can start their placements. Infosys, Wipro,TCS, digitalcore, USTGlobal , Sutherland, Accenture etc had taken placements from last years. Placement Experience:

Third year and fourth-year students are eligible for placements. Companies like Qburst, TCS, Byjus, and Applexus have visited and offered placements for the students. The average package is 6LPA. I plan to be placed at any one of the companies with a good package and prepare for the gate exam.
