SRIT

Remarks :

There are lots of positive about the college. The placement here is really good. Lots of companies here opt out college to recruit. Top reputed companies come to hire us. The negatives are that the location of the college. Its located such inner from the main city.

Course Curriculum Overview :

When i was pursuing my UG the college was under anna university control board. So, we had a common curriculum which contains 8 semesters, each semester will have around 5 to 8 subjects. The subjects might be from their core and also from other departments.

Placement Experience :

Our college get the most number of placement drives in the city. Around 100 to 150 companies come each year to recruit the students. Few companies provide internship. If requested the college will allow them to pursue internship. It was really a great experience to attend placement drives and see how the corporate life would be. The stipend for intern would vary from 8K to 17K.

College Events :

At my college we celebrate Annual day and sports day where we conduct event and award the winners. Also we have department symposium, where we invite students and staffs from other colleges and organize a event for them and provide prices. Also we have some Knowledge transfer events where a speaker will address the crowd on certain topic thus transferring knowledge.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is normal as it functions under anna university. No forms of extra expenses are got from the students at any situation. Hostel and transport fees alone differ a bit as the college is located bit interior from the main street.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The scholarship is mostly offered to students of Backward caste. They also offer scholarship for the best performing student in each year with amount upto 20K. Special alumnus scholarship are also provided by the college.

Campus Life :

The labs are really well maintained. The computer labs are well maintained with air conditioning. Well organized way the labs are. Other departments labs are also available. Extra curricular activities are also been given importance. Project displays, competition in indoor and outdoor games are also conducted and awards are given. Even though the sports is not given much importance here, still we have a sports master who conducts event are regular intervals.

Hostel Facilities :

I have not opted for hostel. But i have been there. The room are big enough to occupy 3-4 members. It has some good facilities, especially the food is of good quality. In case if the hostel student has to move or vacate the hostel, arrangements are made my the college such as arranging transport for them.

Alumni/Alumna :

There is a separate staff allocated for this alumi. He has touch will all the alumni of our college. They conduct alumni meet each year where people gather and have fun. Even if any studying student has queries related to any stream, they can contact the alumni cell who are ready to help them by providing the necessary contact information of the alumni

Admission :

Based on my 12th percentage i got my councelling date from anna university in the month of april 2015. I had to travel to Chennai and many more were also there looking for good college. When i got my chance to choose, i choose SRIT as it was near to me with not much travelling time. Also, i had knew few staffs working there who i had known earlier. So, i decided to pick up that college to pursue my Undergraduate.

Faculty :

There are really many experienced and also P.hd holding faculties. Many have been working previously in reputed colleges. They mostly teach us in a practical way, which really helped us to cope up with the syllabus.

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
