The journey from a student to a doctor in jipmer

Dislikes

  • Work life is totally hectic and a bit toxic
  • There should be a food chain company in the campus but jipmer doesnt allow that

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is followed by the guidelines made by the NMC with some amount of modifications, the minimum score to pass an exam here is 50% and you have to get good scores in exam to jump to next semester, exams are conducted semester wise with moderate to hard level in exam and I believe there is nothing to be improved

Internships Opportunities :

After completing mbbs we get the chance to do internahip in the campus as it is a hospital aswell there we have to work in all the departments one by one for the whole 1 year and we get a monthly stipend of 27k , during intership we get to handle patients and learn a lot which help us in the future as we have finally become a doctor by the time we join internship

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The cost of education here is in the first year we have to pay approximately 12k but for the subsequent years only 6k is enough for the entire year and the hostel accommodation fee is 12k per year , we do get category scholarships and some for doung research as well , after completing final year we get the chance to do internship in the same college and we get approx 27k per month

Campus Life :

There are 2 main events conducted in jipmer they are Spandan and conaisance the prior is held in the month of September and the later one is held in june along with those events there are many events like holi , interclass and so on , we have a central library working 24/7 and its accessible to all the students and staff with access to all sorts of books ranging from academic to novels, the classrooms here are very spacious with air conditioning and projectors , jipmer provides a variety of sports ranging from indoor to outdoors to students and staff and they also conduct interclass tournaments , we have a students association group which conducts all the events in jipmer

Hostel Facilities :

The annual hostel fee is 12k and the rooms provided to us are a double occupancy rooms with cupboards , separate table and chairs and separate beds and we have a common bathroom in the hostel at every single floor, we have 3 different messes in the campus and the quality of food is decent and affordable, to get hostel accommodation we have to apply online or while admission we have to opt for accommodation

Admission :

You have to clear NEET entrance exam with good rank maybe in hundereds out of 27 lakh students , after that you have to apply in NMC for counselling and you have to choose your college based on the rank you got youll be allotted a college after that you have to report to the college in the given amount of time , the neet exam is held once a year and the difficulty level is moderate to hard but the competition is extremely hard , I personally believe the MCC should conduct entrance exam twice a year

Faculty :

In jipmer the faculties are very friendly and very supportive , they are doctors who have achieved so much in their life and they are well educated, they are very much approachable and you can get supprot from them in your research as well this helps students to get guidance in studies as well as life

Course Curriculum Overview:

mbbs has always been my dream job, my dad is a doctor and I like how people respect him, and consider him in society so basically i never had an option other than mbbs in my life. The curriculum hopefully prepares me well for the real world. They do have skills lab classes where they teach resuscitation or suturing which is helpful in the real life, so hopefully it works out at the end.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to be a doctor so I took up the mbbs course. There is a lot of hands-on learning in the clinical postings so it's very useful. The only negative is that there are a lot of exams-there's an internal once every 2 to 3 months

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is one such course which requires sheer determination and excess amount of efforts both physical and mental. The curriculum is very huge compared to what we read in 12th std and the practical aspect of handling patients requires lot's of knowledge. The clas lectures help you to some extent but self prep is a must In JIPMER, we have 3 IAs per year and then one model exam and an end year university exam. The difficulty level reduces from IA to university exam

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exams are quite difficult and there is a good frequency of exams. There is a lot of case based questions so it kinda prepares us for the real time scenarios which is great. The aspect of dealing with healing diseases is what made me get into the field
