Remarks
Well my experience has been cool here. Got some good friends, teachers. But the principal she's rude at times. The campus is good, the washroom are just about decent. The library can be further extended which is not done though. We're also being charged for AC but we don't get AC class rooms. So I've survived my three years in a classroom with decent fan facilities.
Course Curriculum Overview
I can just talk about history honours. The curriculum is vast and interesting to study too. But then again there are portions which are not added maybe because three years is a short span to study all the three periods in history - ancient, medieval and modern. Like for example, Sher shah shuru was eliminated from our curriculum. The course won't disappoint you if you are passionate about history. And also don't take it just for the sake that you'll be able to do it. Without interest no course can attract you. You'll fall in a trap. The exam structure is the following for almost all the courses (I'm not sure about all of them but I feel it's the same throughout DU) : 100 marks are divided into : 25 marks (internals for 20 marks be it two test or one test and one assignment and 5 marks for attendance) and 75 marks (which is the external paper for the subject which takes place in Nov/Dec and April/May).
Placement Experience
Don't have much clue. Because for my course there are very very rare chances for placement and job opportunities just within or on the completion of the bachelors. For other courses like Bcom I can say there are good packages.
College Events
Well it starts from college orientation, then fresher's for the college by the current union working, then comes fresher's by the department - official and unofficial, then fresher's by societies in which you are a part, then there are events by different societies. In the month of Feb and March there is DU annual fest so the college celebration goes around for three days in which all the departments and societies put up their stalls for game and food and it is very exciting to see this. In the evening there is concert by any popular singer or there is any popular DJ which comes.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As the institution is semi government it charges a bit high from the other colleges which are under government. Like my course charge here is 18-19k and in other colleges it is maximum 11-13 thousand rupees only.
Fees and Financial Aid
Don't know. I've not heard of any scholarships or as such nor am I sure of because I didn't apply for anything like this. Rest depends if now the college gives out any scholarships or loan facilities.
Campus Life
In this case my college is good. Be it basketball, shooting etc it stands somewhere. There is a wall where there are pictures of the students who have achieved something big in terms of sports. So it is easy to recognise them.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are no doubt friendly and helpful. No one does ragging or something like that in the campus. They help you for exam thing and guide you thoroughly. Alumni do come for certain events if they're free and they also help out college by funding it.
Admission
It is done with merit for most of the subjects. For admission procedure you will have to fill a DU form from the main DU website when the form is released. Then in that form you will have to fill up your marks and other necessary items. Once the cut offs are released and if you best of four marks match with that of your favorite course and college too then rush to the college with all the necessary and required documents. Get them verified and also take a print out of your DU form, and they'll inform you about your successful admission there itself.
Faculty
My faculty is absolutely friendly. But they do suck when it comes to departmental society screening for movies and talks on various topics by outside professor. They make it compulsory to attend and then you do whatever you feel like in the conference room, the Teacher's notice you and then taunt you for that. I guess I'm lucky I had such teachers who are kind and take responsibility for their course to get completed.
