Academic excellence: IT Palakkad's ranking by NIRF is 69 out of the top engineering colleges in India in 2023. Even the university got a sweet deal with Auckland University for a study abroad semester

Faculty: Professors are highly knowledgeable and always ready to help. They even encourage the students to dive into research and sometimes join in government-funded projects. The pedagogy here includes classroom learning, workshops, experiential learning, and simulations. Apart from these, conferences and guest lectures from experts add to the quality of education here.

Facilities: The university has comfy hostel rooms with super-fast Wi-Fi, and the students can keep fit and healthy with medical and sports facilities. The library might be small, but it's got all the books and study materials the students need for them.

IIT Palakkad is from the new league of IITs. It has collaboration with Auckland University for the semester abroad programme and has tie-up with UST Global for providing students with the opportunity to learn cutting-edge technology in the R & D sector.

Academics and Faculty

  • Teachers are highly qualified and supportive. Research work is encouraged by teachers. Teachers also guide students with their work involving few in government funded research projects.
  • Students are encouraged to take up internships and industrial visits are organized frequently for students to gain practical exposure.
  • Seminars and workshops are conducted for students. There are various clubs that students can join to enhance capability.
  • Collaboration with Auckland University for study abroad semester
  • Modern in-demand technologies such as Blockchain, Data Analytics, AI are taught in later semesters

Facilities

  • The main campus is under construction as of now and students have to stay in a transit campus. Hence, all facilities cannot be availed yet.
  • Library is relatively small but has all the important books and updated study material available.
  • Hostel rooms are spacious and hygienic, with 24*7 high speed WI-FI available
  • Medical and sports facilities are also available.
  • Merit-cum-means scholarship can be availed by students whose annual family income falls below 4.5 lpa

Placements

  • The IT sector made most recruitments with 44%, followed by Core Engineering and Banking and Finance with 21% and 18% respectively.
  • 64 companies made a total of 70+ offers
  • Companies like Arista Networks, Trimble, L&T, Maybank, HSBC,TCS,TRAI, Play simple, BOSCH,Fincure, iManage, VERSA, Visteon are the top recruiters that participate in the recruitment drives
  • The highest salary package offered to students was 16 LPA. The average salary package offered to students is around 8-9 LPA.
  • 90% students were placed from CSE, while the average placement rate was between 60-85% for the other branches

This is a new college and the first batch graduated just last year, hence placements and facilities will increase with time. The choice of college depends on every individual’s discretion, resources and vision.
