Yes, there is a dress code for first year MBBS students at PGIMS Rohtak. This rule is strictly followed by the first-year students.

Boys are expected to dress in a white shirt, matching white pants, a maroon tie, white socks and shiny shoes. In addition to the dress code, maintaining short hair and a clean-shaven appearance is also required.

The proper attire for ladies is a white kurta, a maroon dupatta, white stockings, and black school shoes. Particularly in the dissection room, the hairs must be knotted in the shape of a bun. No accessories or make-up is permitted.

For both boys and girls the apron has to be knee-length and include the UHSR emblem, your name, and your roll number above the pocket on it.

Yes, PGIMS Rohtak has a Two Year Service Bond under which you are required to serve in Government Hospitals of Haryana after completing your MBBS and One Year Compulsory Rotatory Internship.

This bond applies to all those medical students who get admission in Govt. Medical Colleges of Haryana through 85% State Quota in the year 2017. Students who fail to fulfill the service bond, have to pay 25 lakhs INR to the state govt.

The only way to avoid the bond is to get admission via all-India counseling instead of state counseling.

• PGIMS is located in a developed area with cinemas, malls, restaurants, and many attractions nearby.
• The first year hostels are just average but from the second year onwards you will be transferred to newly built hostel buildings, with all modern facilities. The food served is better than that served in the first year. There are two canteens one inside the hostel and one in the PG hostel
• PGIMS Rohtak PG is more highly regarded than its MBBS program but 50% of seats are reserved for Haryana students.

Overall PGIMS Rohtak is an excellent college where you will spend the best years of your life. 

Life of a UG student at PGIMS Rohtak is extremely fun and a complete roller coaster experience. Here are some highlights of the amazing campus life based on the experience shared by a friend 

• The lecture halls are spacious and well-equipped lectures fully air-conditioned, thereby enhancing the learning experience. 
• Frequent events like fests and parties are organized like XTACIA, ARMSCON, etc.... to give students a break from their hectic schedules.
• Yearly sports meet is organized either separately or as a part of the fest. Many festivals like Holi and Diwali are also celebrated. A Diwali mela is held.
• The UG students are given enough time to pursue their co-curriculars.
• Boys have no hostel timings for entry or exit and are free to enter and exit at their own free will.
• The institute has a great sex ratio.
• We have well-equipped labs with modern and working instruments.
• The coaching institutes for PG have a satellite center nearby.
• The college enjoys a good location just near the marketplace.
• We have NGOs and non- NGOs collaborating with the college.

So, do everything you want here and live your initial years to the fullest at PGIMS Rohtak!

I fail to understand why you are even considering a drop year when you can get into the most reputed medical college in India, PGIMS Rohtak. It is second second-best college in Haryana and its Mecial ranking by NIRF was 49 out of 50 in India 2023. It is a reputable medical college in India, and getting a seat there is a great achievement.

The institute boasts of excellent placements and being a government college it has several advantages too. My friend was a gold medalist at PGIMS and is currently a doctor at AIIMS Delhi. His career is in full bloom and half the year he is outside India attending conferences.

So, taking a drop year when you have the option of joining PGIM SRohtak is not wise at all. 

PGIMS Rohtak is an amazing choice in terms of campus life, academics, facilities, and hostel. It’s known to have some of the most talented faculty members. Their teaching modules are unique. The labs are well-equipped and the practical classes are quite intriguing. Students learn something new every day.

Regular seminars and competitions are organized to implement the theoretical knowledge of the students. ARMSCON, a national-level conference, is organized every year in mid-October.

PGIMS has a huge campus with excellent sports facilities. There is also provision of hostel and mess facilities but don’t raise your expectations high.

Overall, life at PGIMS Rohtak is pretty good although you might have to adjust a bit.
