Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Pune (SIIB) established in 1992 is a constituent of the well-recognised Symbiosis Institute of Management. National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management also known as Manage was established in 1987 by the Ministry of Agriculture. Over the years both these institutions have been ranked amongst the top 50 B-Schools of the country.

It is hard to prefer one over the other but we try to analyse a few aspects here.

  • Course: At Manage, all courses are solely focused on the agribusiness sector and hence, the institute has a high brand value in this industry attracting lucrative offers. Also, it is run by the government, thereby ensuring quality of education and highly esteemed and experienced faculty members.
  • Fees: At SIIB, the fees for MBA in Agri Business Management is 10.8 lacs. While at Manage, it is 6.05 lacs for the same course.
  • Admission: For both these institutes, candidates need to meet the basic eligibility criteria of 50% throughout the academic career to apply. For SIIB, eligible students need to appear for SNAP followed by personal interview and written ability test. Manage scrutinizes students based on CAT score and then GD, followed by personal interview.
  • Seat intake: At SIIB, the total intake for MBA in Agribusiness is 60-100 while at Manage, it is 80-120.
  • Facilities: Both the institutions boast of the state-of-the-art infrastructure. SIIB’s library provides membership facilities like APICS, SHRM and NHRD. SIIB also has international collaborations with Dauphine University, Berlin School of Economics and Law, Lisbon School of Economics and Management.

Which one is better among IMT Gaziabad, XIM Bhubaneswar, and SIIB Pune?

SB
Sampriti Banerjee Posted On : April 1st, 2023
studied at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (2017)

You should consider XIM Bhubaneshwar over IMT Ghaziabad, and SIIB Pune as your choice of B-school. Following are the pros and cons.

Pros:

  • XIMB has its own unique culture and selects students who fit into that culture.
  • The institute provides a great student life on campus, with excellent faculty and a lot of freedom for students.
  • The geographical disadvantage of the institute is compensated by almost 100% placements, especially for above-average students.
  • XIMB provides a lot of opportunities for interaction with industry experts, giving students good exposure.
  • The alumni of XIMB are doing well in almost all big corporate houses, which helps in placements and career moves after the first job.
  • Being an XIMB alum carries a lot of brand value and credibility.

Cons:

  • XIMB's location is a disadvantage that may affect its rankings.
  • The quota system, although rigorous, goes against XIMB in rankings.

DB
Deepika Batra Posted On : April 6th, 2022
MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bengaluru (2020)

Comparably, SIBM Bangalore is better. The institute stands out because of its unique pedagogy.

  • It follows Harvard Business School Case Studies and Simulations. There are flipped classroom models in place to increase academic rigor. It has a Learning Management System (LMS) in place to facilitate learning, evaluation, and teaching.
  • As a student of SIBM B, you will have access to amazing resources. The institute has Bloomberg lab, CMIE Prowess database, and library databases like EBSCO, Frost & Sullivan, Sage, Science Direct, etc.
  • During SIBM Bangalore placements 2022, the average CTC stood around INR 10 LPA. For the top 50 students, the average CTC was INR 14.11 LPA.

In terms of resources, academics, and placements, SIBM Bangalore is better than SIIB Pune.

Which is better as per placements and quality of education: GIM, SIIB, Fore IB, or KJ Somaiya?

KJ
Kiran Jatolia Posted On : December 26th, 2022
B. Tech in Electronics Engineering (courses), Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (Graduated 2017)

Although all the B Schools you mentioned are very good, the one I would personally recommend is FORE. Some points that favor my recommendation are

  • Location-based crowd: All the other colleges you mentioned have students mainly from Mumbai. But FORE located in New Delhi, the heart of the country has students from all over India.
  • Placement: Here’s a tabular comparison of the average and highest CTC of the colleges.

College

Average Package

Highest package

GIM

INR 12.1 LPA

INR 30.2 LPA

FORE

INR 14.04 LPA

INR 41 LPA

KJ Somaiya

INR 10.98 LPA

INR 26.50 LPA

SIBM Bangalore

INR 10.60 LPA

INR 32 LPA

  • Fees:

GIM: ?18,31,200

FORE: Rs.16,98,000

KJ Somaiya: ?9.59 Lakhs (one year)

SIBM: INR 3.53 L - 16.62 L(for 2-3 years)

FORE offers industry oriented certifications and International Immersion Program. So looking at the overall picture we can say all 4 colleges give each other tough competition but FORE takes the lead.

Which is better, siib-ib pune, fore or tapmi?

AD
Aditi Deshpande Posted On : October 6th, 2023
Lives in Pune,Maharashtra

SIIB-Pune would be a better choice than Fore or TAPMI. Let's break down your analysis to understand why you believe SIIB-Pune is the best choice among the three options:

  • TAPMI, FORE, and SIIB are all well-reputed institutions, but SIIB-Pune gains a slight edge in terms of brand reputation, citing its higher NIRF ranking. TAPMI ranked #42 out of top management colleges in India by NIRF in 2023
  • SIIB-Pune has experienced faculty. All the professors and assistant professors in the faculty were Ph.D. holders and had good acumen and knowledge.
  • SIIB International Business offers a maximum domestic package of 39 LPA and a maximum international package of 82.05 LPA, with an average package of 13.12 LPA for the 2023 batch. FORE follows with the highest package of 23.5 LPA and an average package of 13 LPA for the 2023 batch. TAPMI average package stood at 14.8 LPA and the highest package of 24.8 LPA was offered.

Based on these factors, you conclude that SIIB Pune is the best choice, followed by TAPMI and FORE.

Which college should I choose between SIMS Pune and SIIB Pune where both are old and the same placements and SIMS fee is low but SIIB peer quality is good?

SH
Souman Halder Posted On : May 26th, 2021
MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (2020)

SIIB is the third rank college in SNAP and has a high cutoff around 98 percentile. Since SIMS admits mostly students from defense backgrounds so the quality of peer of SIIB, is comparatively better.

There’s also another parameter that you should consider while choosing the right institute for your MBA, i.e. specialization.

  • For Marketing and Finance, go for SIIB Pune. It is definitely a better choice, with more companies on campus as compared to SIMS.
  • If you are interested in Operation/SCM or HR go for SIMS. It has a large batch size for HR and Operations that ensures better placement opportunities and peer learning.

Another factor that is crucial for choosing a management institute is ROI. SIIB offers a poor Return On Investment if you don't get the top jobs. However, recently SIIB is seeing very good placements. SIIB is better in long term.
