BITS Pilani

Data science courses from BITS Pilani are highly regarded for their comprehensive curriculum and academic support. I have done the course and as per my experience, I would recommend it to aspiring data scientists looking to learn the basics of data science. It holds a significant value both in terms of money and time.

  • The curriculum which is designed by industry experts and experienced faculties, ensures the complete coverage of essential data science concepts and techniques.
  • BITS Pilani’s brand name and strong alumni network further enhance the value proposition.
  • Students are also equipped with real-world skills through practicals and hands-on projects.
  • This helps them become job-ready as soon as the course ends. BITS Pilani's data science course is worth the investment if you aspire to a career in the field of data science.

One of my friends has completed the Data Science course by BITS Pilani and as per her experience, it’s nothing unique or out of the box. The same content is delivered by other platforms such as SimpliLearn and Edureka at much lower rates. The Data Science program is just a money-making platform with insanely good marketing techniques to lure students to the program.

They claim to offer a scholarship worth 30k if the students clear a test. But the reality is they offer the scholarship anyway so the test is just a way to lure students. Irrespective of your score on the test, you will be granted admission to the program. The IIIT Bangalore title loses its value completely in the process.

The placement scenario is also very misleading and they keep introducing some cooler upgrade titles and programs claiming to help students get places. All in all, the IIIT_Bangalore tag won’t add much to your resume or even increase your chance to interview with top companies. It’s better to look for a cheaper Data Science course before you need to become proficient in R, Python, Tableau/Microsoft BI, SQL, Pyspark, and Hive.
