What is the difference between the north and south campus colleges of DU?

PD
Preeti Deshmukh Posted On : October 12th, 2022
BA from University of Delhi

There is no discernible difference.

1-The faculty levels on both campuses are the same. Teachers on the south campus are more helpful and friendly, but there are a few good teachers on the north campus as well.

2-When it comes to PG or food, the South campus is far too cheap. In the south, one can find very good affordable accommodation. North is a little pricey because there are too many colleges, which increases the demand for goods and pgs, and thus prices.

3-The crowd in each college is nearly mixed and uniform. Although the north campus receives more applications from students from UP, Bihar, Haryana, and Rajasthan because it is overrated and hyped among people, all mostly SC, ST, and OBC, sports quota, and ECA quota students go there if they get it anyhow.

4-Colleges do not provide degrees; DU does. So, regardless of which college you attend, you will receive the same degree.

5-Placements- this is an extremely important factor. The majority of placements are reserved for Bcom and Economics Honours students. Placements are available at LSR, SRCC, Hindu, Venky, Hansraj, KMC, and Ramjas, but only for Bcom or Economics students. Other department students may be offered the internship, but the pay is insufficient.

6- Restrooms and drinking water- The restrooms in each college are clean and well-maintained. Clean and sanitary. However, if you drink a lot of water, you should only go to North Campus if you can buy a bottle for each day because the water there is too salty.

There is no distinguishable difference between the two campuses. So choose a college that is easy to get to, as the metro has raised its fares, and where PG, hostels, and flats are reasonably priced, as you will be spending three years there.

Is it worth doing a BA in economics honors from an average college of DU?

PA
Pragya Agrawal Posted On : October 10th, 2022
B.A. in Economics, University of Delhi

Many people believe that college isn't necessary for success in life. No, it does not. But those people are simply not telling the whole story. The amount of struggle you will face without a college degree is 20 times greater than what you will face with a good college degree. Working hard today will make your life easier tomorrow.

Any average college isn't worth it unless you're in dire financial need or your family's mental state is unbearable. The hype surrounding DU is unreal. All of those 52 lakh eco packages are overpriced. 5 people out of lakhs may get it; the rest must compete for a 5 lakh job.

You should never accept anything less than what you deserve. You can apply for Jamia to enter. You may apply for abroad studies. You can get a fellowship and take a year off. Do whatever it takes to stand out from the crowd and make a better career for yourself.

Is a BA programme a good course if I do it from DU?

PR
Prakriti Raina Posted On : October 12th, 2022
LLB from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi

BA at DU can be BA (Program), BA (Hons), and in Honors, you can take the specialization course in Economics, Political Science, History, English, Hindi, Geography, and so on.

Furthermore, if you expect to get a higher percentage in BA courses, you are mistaken. Students at Delhi University typically receive very low grades. The average score is between 51 and 58%. It would not surprise me if someone became a University topper with only 58% of the marks.

So, just for the DU brand, choose the BA program and if you want to work in the civil service, you're on the right track.

What is the scope after Statistics Honors in DU?

AT
Anushka Tiwari Posted On : October 7th, 2022
Studied Economics (Hons.) at University of Delhi

Analytics firms are particularly interested in statistics graduates. Examples include MU Sigma, Fractal Analytics, EXL, and others. However, many employers will expect you to have a Master's degree in the subject as well. You would have a distinct advantage over the majority of engineers available to analytics firms because they will not be as familiar with statistical models and techniques.

For a Master's degree, you should specifically seek one from the ISI (Indian Statistical Institute) in Delhi/Kolkata, which is an incredible research institute as well as an Institute of National Importance, similar to the IITs and NITs. Excellent faculty members teach at ISI and provide you with a highly competitive peer group.

If you want to do an MBA to work in the private sector, the IIMs would love to have you if you have a good academic record because you'll bring much needed diversity to the engineering school crowd. A background in statistics may also help you stand out in front of recruiters.

Finally, if you obtain an M.Stat degree, you will be eligible for a career in the Indian Statistical Services, whose exam is held annually by UPSC.

At DU, you must get at least 70% and assimilate any theories you learn so that you can apply them to real-world problems. This will benefit you in the long run because you will be more likely to enjoy the subject and express enthusiasm when discussing it in interviews or when writing SOPs.

How is B Tech at DU?

AN
Asha Negi Posted On : October 10th, 2022
B.Tech Information Technology & Mathematics, Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi

Cluster Innovation Center is the only Engineering Programme at the University of Delhi. You will not be studying those pointless first-year subjects that are common in almost every other engineering college. You will only study subjects related to your field.

Information technology and Mathematics are included in the curriculum. Aside from these two, you must choose your second major beginning in the second semester. There are three options: Business and Management, Electronics and Embedded Systems, and Computational Biology.

According to the curriculum, you will be required to complete month-long projects in almost every subject. Aside from that, you must complete a semester-long project in the fourth and sixth semesters. Students are generally not accepted by companies during their first two years of college due to a lack of skills and experience, so they must rely on internships provided by the college, which are of average quality.

Is it possible to get more than 70% marks in DU SOL?

PK
Pawan Kumar Posted On : November 9th, 2022
B.A. from University of Delhi

Yes, it’s very much possible to attain more than 70% marks in DU SOL. My brother was lucky enough to score 71.1% in his second year of B.Com.(Hons). He mentioned a few simple strategies that helped him get good marks.

  1. Set your target: The very first step has to be to fix a target. In my brother's case, he set his target at 75%.

  2. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses: Focus more on the subjects you are well versed in. Compensate the marks you will lose in the subjects you are below average at with the marks you will get in subjects you are good at.

  3. Attempt the paper well: When I say attempt the paper well, I also mean make it presentable. Neat handwriting and diagrams never go unnoticed.

  4. Additional guidance: Getting tuition for subjects you are weak at is better than mugging up the concept. These classes are available near North and South Campus.

  5. Consistency is the key: Leaving the entire syllabus for a few days before the exams is not a good option. Study regularly, even if for just a few hours. You will see amazing results.

Adopting all these strategies, my brother got 71.1%. So I don’t think it’s difficult to score above 70% in DU SOL.

What is the format for a character certificate for admission in DU issued from a gazetted officer? Should I take a printout of it or manually write it?

SZ
Saher Zehra Posted On : October 7th, 2022
Studied at University of Delhi

The character certificate is issued by the most recent institute you attended, in this case, your school. You should visit your school and request the administration a character certificate for yourself.

The school is responsible for making sure that you get your character certificate. It would be suggestive that you collect all the original documents from the school along with the character certificate.

What is DUs syllabus for BA Humanities and Social Science Admission test?

SS
Sneha Paul Sam Posted On : October 12th, 2022
English honors student BA final year

To begin, one must mentally prepare to continue reading newspapers every day and attempting to comprehend editorial opinions and social issues. It would be beneficial to read some philosophy books based on your own understanding, thereby increasing your ability to think about society in terms of how well-educated people perceive women, girls, and people's difficulties. A good understanding of General Studies and your 12th-class texts from the Arts field is required.

The entrance exam is not based on math, reasoning, or English; rather, it is based on your social background, as well as your opinion and mindset. This entrance has only 20 or 30 seats. So be cautious, and good planning will ensure your success.
