XLRI Jamshedpur Welcomes its Batch of 2024-26; Sees Change in Admission Trend

New Delhi: Xavier School of Management, (XLRI Jamshedpur) conducted the induction ceremony for its batch of 2024-26 on June 10, 2024. The institute has started the academic session for its PGDM-BM; PGDM-LSCM; PGDM-GM, PGDM-HRM courses along with FPM and Exec-FPM courses. 

Traditionally held in the Tata Auditorium on the XLRI Jamshedpur campus, this year's inauguration ceremony for the new academic session took place offline. The event, attended by the incoming students, their parents, XL faculties, and staff members, marked the official commencement of their journey at XLRI. A total of 551 students were inducted during the inauguration ceremony. 

Fr. S George S.J, Director, XLRI, Fr. Donald D’Silva S.J, Dean Administration & Finance, XLRI and Prof. Sanjay Patro, Dean Academics, XLRI, along with other dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp.

Welcoming the new batch of students to XLRI Jamshedpur, Fr. S George S.J., Director, XLRI said, “I welcome you all to the XLRI family. Each one of you is here purely on your own merit, nothing else. You've reached the peak but there are other hills you'll have to climb. Make sure you make the most of the opportunities at XLRI. When you succeed, XLRI succeeds. And when you fail, we fail. Your every action, brings glory to XLRI.”

Out of the total 551 students, the new batch comprises of 55% Students from Engineering background in the XLRI PGDM-BM and PGDM-LSCM programs. 

The Human Resource Management (HRM) program saw a historic change, with 50 percent of the students coming from non-engineering backgrounds, challenging the long-standing trend of engineering dominance.

The new batch also includes 9 students in the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and 14 in the Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EXEC-FPM).
