New Delhi: Vivekananda Global University celebrated its sixth convocation on January 12, 2023, in New Delhi. At the convocation ceremony, the university awarded degrees to a total of 832 students.

As per Vivekananda Global University, 28 gold, 20 silver, and 15 bronze medals were given out to 63 deserving students. Om Birla, the speaker of the Lok Sabha, attended the event as the main guest.

In addition to this, the university also awarded an honorary degree (Honoris Causa) of Doctorate of Science to Professors R S Paroda and Laxman Singh Rathore as a recognition of their outstanding contributions to meteorology and agriculture.

Speaking on the occasion, Birla explained that learning is a lifelong process that takes place continuously. He continued by saying that the teachers' diligence and commitment greatly influence how the children will develop in the future.

Birla urged the students to become responsible citizens of the country. He praised VGU for its contribution to upholding high standards in education and assisting in forming young graduates into contributing members of society.

In his speech, University President Professor Vijay Vir Singh praised Prof. Paroda and Prof. Rathore's contributions and stated that these illustrious, well-known, and respected individuals did not require any special introduction.

He also mentioned that VGU just received approval from the Institution Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to provide full-fledged MBA, BBA, BCA, BA, and MA degrees online. The university will begin offering these programmes as early as this month.

On January 13, 2023, the university conducted a reunion to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Activities at the reunion included dancing, games, music, and other things. The former students finished signing up and toured the campus.

VGU’s official statement reads, “They danced as their caravan moved ahead. Many current students also joined them on the way. The huge procession made its way toward the main building of the University where they were greeted by the senior faculty members, including the deans and heads of different departments".

“Consider VGU your home and feel free to visit us whenever you feel like,’’ VGU Registrar Praveen Chowdhry said. “We are always there for you. You will always receive the same warmth when you come here,” he further added.
