SIU Pune PhD Admission 2023 Open; Apply till May 22

New Delhi: Symbiosis International University (SIU), Pune is inviting applications for admission into its PhD program for the academic session 2023-24. Interested candidates can submit their applications on the official website at siu.edu.in. 

SIU Pune offers its PhD program in various disciplines including Law, Management, Computer Studies, Health Sciences, Media and Communication, Humanities and Social Science, and Engineering. The last date to apply is May 22, 2023. 

Admission to SIU Pune PhD program is done based on marks secured in PhD Entrance Test 2023 conducted by Symbiosis International University. Candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their performance in the entrance test followed by a personal interview round.

The application fee for SIU PhD Admission 2023 is INR 2000/- for General/OBC Category and INR 1500/- for SC/ST Category candidates. The application forms are to be filled out online and candidates do not need to submit a hard copy of their registrations. 

SIU Pune PhD Admissions 2023 Important Dates 

As per the official website, the entrance test will be held on June 24, 2023 in online mode, and will include 100 objective Multiple Choice Questions, each carrying 1 mark. There is no negative marking. The entrance test will be held for a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

SIU Pune PhD Admissions 2023: Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible to apply for SIU Pune PhD Admissions 2023, candidates need to fulfil the following mentioned eligibility criteria:

• Candidates for admission to the PhD Program must have a Master’s degree or a professional degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
• Candidates who have successfully completed the MPhil Degrees with 55% marks or its equivalent grade ‘B’ on the UGC 7-point scale shall be eligible to take admitted to the PhD Degree
• Relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/Differently-Abled categories.

• It should be noted that international candidates (NRIs, Foreign Nationals and PIOs who have obtained Master’s degrees from foreign universities) are required to qualify for IELTS with a 6.5 score or IELA Test (Band 3) of SIU ELTIS, an equivalent test for English language proficiency.

SIU Pune PhD Admissions 2023: Selection Process

After the application process, candidates are selected for admission to PhD program of SIU Pune based on the following selection criteria:

• Seats are allocated to eligible candidates strictly based on the merit scored in the PhD Entrance Test (PET), along with their performance in a personal interview round. 
• Candidates with NET/SET/SLET/GATE/M. Phil. or are UGC/CSIR/ICMR DBT/RGNF/MANF/DST Inspire & NBHM Fellows, are exempted from the entrance test during the validity period of the certificate/award. 
• However, such candidates have to mandatorily appear for the personal interview.
• Those who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered for admission.

Candidates can apply for admission to PhD Program at SIU Pune through the official website by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of SIU Pune at siu.edu.in.

Step 2: Click on the “New Registration” link present on the website homepage.

Step 3: Register yourself after filling in the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 4: Now, log in with your registration credentials and fill in all details in the Symbiosis International University PhD Entrance Test Application form.

Step 5: Pay the required application fee through debit, credit or online means and submit the form. 

Step 6: Applicants must also take a printout of the form for all future needs.
