Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering (MPSTME) at NMIMS University, Mumbai, has won 2 Harvard Diplomacy Awards and 4 Social Venture Challenge (SVC) awards at the Harvard WorldMUN 2023.
New Delhi: At the Harvard World Model United Nations (MUN) 2023, students from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Mukesh Patel School of Technology, Management and Engineering (MPSTME) of Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) won two Harvard Diplomacy Awards and four Social Venture Challenge (SVC) Awards.
This MUN was held in Paris, France. Additionally, the students came in second place in the international SAS Curiosity Cup competition for data analytics.
The Harvard WorldMUN, often known as the MUN Olympics and was attended by 1500 people.
The Harvard Diplomacy Prize went to Jash Damani and Anuradha Bansal, and the four SVCs went to the MPSTME projects ReFlex, Project Techtile, Stride, and ASAP India.
In contrast, Team Marcos, which consisted of four MPSTME MTech Data Science students, placed second in the SAS Curiosity Cup competition for their study entitled "Country-wise Analysis of Socio-economic Indicators and its Impact on Olympic Game's Performance."
According to the NMIMS Mumbai official release,"the relationship between a country's HDI and Olympic medal success was highlighted by their proficiency in data collection, cleaning, normalisation, and analysis using SAS software".
The statement further stated that "these conclusions can aid decision-makers in creating evidence-based plans to boost their nations' sporting prowess."
Alka Mahajan, dean of MPSTME, remarked during the ceremony, "MPSTME has always been at the forefront of innovation, ensuring that our students have a comprehensive exposure and are fostered as socially conscious persons. These victories in two different competitions highlighted the depth of knowledge, level of proficiency, and dedication to excellence displayed by our students. Along with their mentors, we congratulate them and look forward to hearing about their future successes”.
