New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar has begun the application process for admission to the UG and PG courses for the academic session of January and August 2023. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @https://www.iitrpr.ac.in/.

IIT Ropar is currently conducting admissions to the BTech, MTech, M.Sc, and PhD programmes. Candidates seeking admission to these IIT Ropar programmes can submit their applications for either January 2023 or August 2023 sessions.

IIT Ropar Admission 2023 for International Students: Eligibility Criteria

International candidates seeking admission to the IIT Ropar programmes can go through the eligibility criteria mentioned below. 

BTech Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have secured at least 75% aggregate in Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. (65% for SC, ST and PwD candidates) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in the Board examination. 

MTech Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have a BE/ B.Tech Degree in a relevant discipline or AMIE with at least 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST/ PwDs).
• Also, candidates would be eligible if they are GATE qualified for admission in M.Tech program. 

MSc Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have passed class 10+2 with mathematics as a compulsory subject.
• They must hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/institute with a minimum aggregate of 55% (for General/OBC-NCL category)/at least 50% aggregate marks (for SC/ST and PwD category).
• They should have a valid score in IIT JAM. 

PhD Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must hold a ME/M.Tech degree with 60% marks and minimum 2 years of work experience in a relevant field. 

IIT Ropar Admission 2023 for International Students: Selection Process

BTech Selection Process:

• Candidate's selection will be on the basis of +2 Board exams along with JEE Advanced score based on merit list prepared by the institute.
• Candidates must also register themselves for JoSAA through which seats are allocated to eligible candidates. 

MTech Selection Process:

• counselling and personal interview.
• Candidate's selection will depend upon scores in GATE and in bachelor’s degree. 
• They are evaluated 70% on their GATE score and 30% on the basis of merit.
• Only selected candidates are then called for PI for final shortlisting. 
• Admission in M.Tech is based on GATE score followed by the COAP

MSc Selection Process:

• Candidate's selection will be done on the basis of scores obtained in the IIT JAM examination. 
• Candidates who qualify the entrance test will then be required to register for JAM counseling. 
• Three rounds of the same will be conducted for admissions and shortlisted candidates will then be required to accept their seats by paying the admission fee. 

PhD Selection Process: 

• Candidates are shortlisted for the PhD programme on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam and are called for an interview. 

IIT Ropar Admission 2023 for International Students: How to Apply?

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of IIT Ropar @https://www.iitrpr.ac.in/. 

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
