IIT Kharagpur Invictus Team Wins in Tata Steel's Third Edition of TomorrowLAB

The IIT Kharagpur team ‘Invictus’ won the students category in Tata Steel’s third edition of TomorrowLAB. Team Juley Cabins won the employees category. The student team was awarded INR 1 lakh, whereas the employee team was awarded INR 60,000.

IIT Kharagpur Invictus Team Wins in Tata Steels Third Edition of TomorrowLAB

New Delhi: Tata Steel announced the winners of the third edition of TomorrowLAB, an initiative to enhance innovation and creativity. Team Invictus from IIT Kharagpur won in the student category, while Team Juley Cabins from Nest-In secured the top spot among employees. 

The winning student team received a substantial cash prize of INR 1 lakh, whereas the leading employee team was awarded INR 60,000. National finalists were also honored with Mementoes and Certificates of Achievement. With an impressive turnout of 25,000 participants, including 155 Tata Steel employees.

Each participant presented innovative business plans centred on three central themes: innovation for 'infrastructure & building', 'energy & environment', and 'rural India'. The 3-month-long competition ended in a thrilling virtual grand finale, during which the champions emerged.

What is TomorrowLAB ?

TomorrowLAB comprised three rigorous rounds, culminating in selecting 25 teams for the pre-finale stage. These teams received invaluable mentorship from Tata Steel Innovent team members before presenting their ideas to a jury panel. Out of the 25 teams, six teams (three from each track) were chosen for the National Grand Finale.

The esteemed jury, consisting of Ashish Anupam, Vice President of Long Products; Dr. Debashish Bhattacharjee, Vice President of Technology and R&D; Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services; and Peeyush Gupta, Vice President of TQM, Group Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain, announced the winners amid much anticipation and celebration.

Ashish Anupam, Vice President of Long Products at Tata Steel, said, “The third edition of TomorrowLAB saw a record number of enthusiastic participants, with several compelling entries from students and Tata Steel employees. TomorrowLAB represents the true spirit of Tata Steel and our constant pursuit of innovation to strengthen India's future.”
