IIT Kharagpur, Indian Navy Forge Alliance for Technological Advancements

New Delhi: IIT Kharagpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Navy to enhance technology, foster creativity, and promote collaborative initiatives for research and development. The MoU was signed at the Naval Headquarters in New Delhi.

As a part of this collaboration, IIT Kharagpur and Indian Navy will work together to encourage mutual benefits, with academia contributing cutting-edge research and technological developments. The military will provide practical insights and applications to promote the development and exchange of knowledge.

Speaking about the collaboration, Rear Admiral K Srinivas said, “The Indian Navy is committed to harnessing the latest advancements in technology to address evolving threats and challenges in the maritime domain. Our partnership with IIT Kharagpur represents a significant step towards achieving this objective, as we work together to develop innovative solutions and drive technological excellence”.

Professor (Ms) Rintu Banerjee added, “IIT Kharagpur is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and research-driven excellence. Our collaboration with the Indian Navy presents a unique opportunity to apply our expertise in technology and engineering to address real-world challenges faced by the maritime sector. Together, we can create impactful solutions that benefit both the defense industry and society at large”.

This MoU was signed by Rear Admiral K Srinivas, the Assistant Chief of Materiel (Dockyard & Refit) at the Naval Headquarters, and Professor (Ms) Rintu Banerjee, the Dean of Research and Development at IIT Kharagpur. Additionally, Professor Virendra Kumar Tiwari, Director of IIT Kharagpur was also present on this occasion.
