IIIT Guwahati has announced PhD admissions for 2025 across various disciplines, including CSE, ECE, Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), and Science and Mathematics (S&M). Interviews will be conducted on January 29, 2025.

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati is inviting applications for admission to its PhD for 2025 for various courses. The last date to submit the application form is January 20, 2025. Candidates need not to pay any application fee.

IIIT Guwahati PhD 2025 Admission: Eligibility Criteria

Computer Science & Engineering (CSE):

Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in a related field with at least 60% marks or a minimum CPI of 6.5.
OR
MSc (CS), MSc (IT), MCA, or an equivalent non-technical master’s degree in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks, along with a valid GATE/NET/SLET score in CS/IT.
OR
Four-year bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical Sciences or an equivalent field with at least 65% marks or a minimum CPI of 7.0.

Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE):

Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant area with at least 60% marks or a minimum CPI of 6.5.
OR
MSc (Electronics) or an equivalent degree with a valid GATE/NET/SLET score and a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks.
OR
Four-year bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical Sciences or a related field with at least 65% marks or a minimum CPI of 7.0.

Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS):

Master’s degree in Economics, Linguistics, or a related discipline with at least 55% marks or equivalent.
Preference will be given to candidates holding a NET-JRF qualification.

Science and Mathematics (S&M):

Master’s or technical degree (MA/MSc/MTech) in Mathematics or Statistics with at least 60% marks or a minimum CPI of 6.5.

A candidate is required to pay hostel and mess fees only upon joining the hostel. The hostel rent will be charged on a pro-rata basis, calculated for a six-month semester at ₹13,750/- for the full semester. Additionally, an advance mess fee of ₹24,000/- is applicable for a six-month period.
