GITAM and DronaVyuh Technology Join Forces for Drone Tech Academic-Industry Partnership

GITAM inaugurates Drone Technologies lab amidst conclave on academic research

New Delhi: Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DronaVyuh Technology to encourage joint partnership between drone technology academics and industry experts in the field.

During a Conclave on Academic Research (CAR), GITAM also launched its Drone Technologies lab. The conclave was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Dignitaries such as IIT Kanpur Professor Mangal Kothari, GITAM Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr KNS Acharya, and Former Director of IIT Hyderabad Professor S Sundar.

As a part of this MoU, GITAM will explore various areas both academically and within the drone technology industry. Researchers and industry experts will jointly explore flight stability, battery life, propulsion, autonomous navigation, etc. 

Their research work and findings will be applied to fields such as weather monitoring, search and rescue, and delivery and transport. They will also research the benefits of drones in noise reduction and management of air traffic to make them more socially acceptable. 

The inauguration of the drone lab is another step by GITAM to move their interdisciplinary research efforts further along. GITAM has also established the Multidisciplinary Unit of Research in Translational Initiatives (MURTI) laboratory as part of its interdisciplinary efforts. 

The MURTI lab was inaugurated by Dr Kota Harinarayana, Chief Designer of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas program, and Christopher W. Hodges from the Chennai US Consulate.
