Fakir Mohan University Earns 'A' Grade from NAAC with 3.18 CGPA

New Delhi: Fakir Mohan University Odisha has been awarded the prestigious 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a commendable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.18. This is the highest point received by a state public university under the higher education department in the State.

As per the NAAC certificate, Fakir Mohan University has received 3.2 grade points for curricular aspects, 3.43 for teaching learning and evaluation, 2.44 for research, innovations, and extension, 3.65 for infrastructure and learning resources, 3.67 for student support and progression, 2.98 for governance, leadership, and management and 3.78 for institutional values and best practices.

The NAAC team visited the campus between September 12 to 14, 2023. They inspected every department and rigorously evaluated the qualitative metrics specified in the Self Study Report (SSR) submitted to NAAC by the university. Earlier, in the first cycle assessment, the university received a B+ grade.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of FM University Santosh Kumar Tripathy, “It is an achievement for Fakir Mohan University. In the first cycle, we were B+ but jumped to A with a 3.18 CGPA. It is the best score in Odisha’s government universities under the higher education department. I hope we will maintain this and work hard to get an A+ in the future.”

He said they would improve research and development, government, and management. “Only 0.08 points would have given us an A+ grade,’’ He added. 

Premier Utkal University received an A grade with a 3.16 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) earlier. Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Baripada has also received an A grade with a 3.1 CGPA while Berhampur University received a B grade earlier this year.
