Rules to Follow While Taking the Test

• Make sure that you are in a well-lit and quiet room, and that no one talks or comes into the testing area during the test time.
• Your ears should be visible and not covered. The use of headphones or earphones is prohibited.
• You must always keep your camera and microphone enabled during the test.
• Using dictionaries, or translators, or seeking help from others during the test is strictly prohibited. 
• Maintain your focus on the screen and keep your eyes directed towards it. Avoid frequent distractions or looking around the room.
• Restart your computer and quit all applications to make sure nothing is running in the background unintentionally.
• Utilizing software or tools not permitted by the DET guidelines, such as grammar-checking software or browser extensions, is against the rules.
• Do not use a second monitor for the test.
• Using any writing tools or note-taking is not allowed.
• Do not navigate away from the test window on the app under any circumstances.

Consequences of Breaking the Rules

In the unlikely event of a rule violation during the test, the DET reserves the right to withhold certification of your results or invalidate previously certified results, without providing a refund. In severe violations, such as cheating, permanent exclusion from future tests may occur.
