NIT Rourkela will begin the CSAB Special Round Counselling 2023 after the completion of JoSAA Counselling from August 02, 2023; Check the complete schedule here!
New Delhi: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela will start the registration process for Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) Special Round counselling from August 02, 2023. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online at csab.nic.in.
In addition to this, NIT Rourkela will start registration for the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) from June 19, 2023. The special round of counselling will begin after the completion of Joint Seat Allocation System (JoSAA) Counselling 2023 for all registered candidates.
Through the counselling, applicants will be selected for admission to 31 NITs, Indian Institute of Engineering, Science, and Technology (IIEST), 26 IIITs, 3 School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) and 36 GFTI (Government funded technical institutes) based on JEE Main 2023 scores.

Important Changes in CSAB Counselling 2023
Check the key changes made in CSAB Counselling 2023 process for the 2023-24 session mentioned below:
- To be eligible for counselling, applicants need to have at least 75% marks or be in the top 20 percentile of the board exam.
- For SC, ST, and PwD students, the qualifying mark to be eligible for counselling is 65% in the Class 12 board exam.
- In addition to those, candidates who belong to the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) category can also apply for counselling under the general category.
- Those who have less than 40% disability will also be required to complete their physical verification process at the allotted verification centre.
- In the special round, applicants can restore their birth category by uploading the required documents in case their category has changed during JoSAA counselling 2023 rounds.
- Candidates can apply for registration of their birth category on the official interface of NIT Rourkela.
