Dr. Leena Khemchandani is the Principal of Aryabhatta International College of Technical Education, Ajmer, Rajasthan. She is a Management Practitioner with Finance and Marketing as a specialization. From the beginning of her career, she has worked in both administration and teaching (UG and PG levels) and has an experience of 13 years. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Management along with a triple PG in Management, Commerce and Economics respectively. She is UGC NET qualified in Management. She has more than 20 publications to her credit and more than 30 paper presentations at National and International Levels Journals, Conferences and Seminars.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practice of industry?

“Live projects and experiential learning are integral to the curriculum”

BCA and BBA programs should be taught in a way that keeps students abreast of industry changes. In addition to completing the course, students are required to work on live projects throughout the course. This allows them to apply their knowledge from classroom learning to real-time business situations.

How do you tend to build an industry connection with these courses? 

“The program includes regular industrial visits, lectures by industrial experts, business model contests”

The teaching of professional education cannot be separated from industry experience or connections. A student should be made aware of Industry changes. The curriculum is made once but academics should be able to provide a good blend of classroom teaching and industrial learning. Our college makes best efforts to ensure that there are regular industrial visits, industrial expert lectures, hackathon competitions, business model competitions, etc.

How did you train yourself and the faculty to deliver these programs to the students?

Faculty Training is a must before student training. A stone can only be shaped into a diamond by a skilled craftsman. Similarly, a student can only be transformed into a professional by a well-trained teacher. Our teachers very well know the importance of updating themselves. Hence, are closely linked with contemporary research work, quality reading of latest journals and subject-related magazines. We have a team of teachers who work with industries and provide them consultancy services which in turn help them understand the industry needs in a better way.
