Dr. Nimita Manocha is the Principal at Indore Institute Of Pharmacy. He carries a rich experience of 25 years in Pharmacy. She attained her B.Pharm degree from DOPS Sagar, M.Pharm degree from SGSITS Indore and Ph.D. from SGVU Jaipur. Dr. Manocha began her teaching career in SGSITS followed by SVCP Indore. She has guided around 40 M.Pharm students, published around 35 plus research papers in reputed International and national journals and has authored a book. Her Research thrust area is Analytical method development, Bioactive Isolation of compounds, Synthesis of medicinal compounds. She worked in the QC Dept, Elys Chemical Kenya & Glaxo Kenya & QA dept in Jamsons Labs. Apart from her academics, she was involved in Techno Commercial Business Development Consultancy with Biozenta Lifescience Ltd. and Theon Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and has represented the company in Worldwide CPhI Pharmaceutical conferences in India, Germany & Thailand.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

I feel I can contribute in developing our future citizens of the Nation by instilling good human and professional values. I strongly feel that I can be the catalyst in shaping their future in the right direction. Education sector is an ongoing and progressive sector. I see myself contributing in areas of research and development in the Pharmaceutical field.


Being the principal of the college, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

As a Principal Of IIP, I believe in the philosophy of Capitalizing on each Other’s strengths- functioning through Team Work. Each individual has some potential, and by working as a team, we can reach great heights at a faster pace. Evolve - We (IIP Staff) all should evolve in this Technology driven fast pacing world by updating ourselves and adapting to the innovations in The new Teaching techniques and Digital world.


Being the principal, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

Students are Our Brand Ambassadors. Therefore we do not need to market. The students credentials are a good marketing tool: eg Placements: well placed in various industries. 


How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practice of industry? 

SIG – Skill Improvement Groups/ Program: Specially designed And conducted at IIP. This is besides our Syllabus designed by The Pharmacy Council of India. Students of IIP undergo the SIG each semester. The objective of SIG is to bridge the gap between Academia and Industry by inculcating Skills to be Industry Ready. The SIGS are specially designed to cater to the Industry Needs. Experts from various industries are invited for the training, furthermore we conduct training also in different analytical labs.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

Mentor and Teacher to the students, Discipline maintenance, Creating an ecosystem for harmony, growth and continuous learning for all including teachers, Administrator the organization, ensuring smooth functioning of the institute and strategizing for future and progressive development for the benefit of all the stakeholders.


What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

We provide an environment conducive for learning and holistic development through our various cells developed and strategized. We are introducing new programs, for the first time in MP. These courses are selected keeping in mind the demand of the industry.


What do you see as your College’s greatest strengths?

Our Biggest strengths is that we provide an environment conducive for Learning and holistic development through our various cells developed and strategized, Wifi Campus and Digitized functionality etc. CDC- Career Development Cell. Involves counseling and Placement, Training of students. All students undergo specifically designed training to be ready to face Campus Drives. Student Development Cell: Personality and Soft skill communication training program. SIG – Skill Improvement Group: Skill training to be industry Ready. Curriculum Teaching: Various digital tools/ Rich Library. Clubs: Creativity/ art, Culture, and Incubation center: innovation & Research


Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Focus and dream Big. Students need to compete with AI and also use AI as a tool for growth. Students should make themselves irreplaceable. Balanced healthy Lifestyle: Blissful harmony, life balance, and they should be achievors. 


What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for your college’s international affairs and/or students?

We have a beautiful campus, with established labs, Sports ground, hostel facilities, organic farming, etc. We plan to collaborate with Foreign Institutes for exchange programs like: Students exchange, faculty exchange programs, and research collaboration.
