Mr. Sudhir Kumar Arora is the HOD Pharma at IIMT College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida. He is a dedicated and highly qualified individual with a strong educational background and extensive experience in the field of pharmaceuticals. He is currently pursuing his PhD from JJTU, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. Mr. Arora holds an M.Pharma in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from VMRF University, Salem, and completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy at M.D. University, Rohtak. With a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (Marketing) equivalent to an MBA from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, Pune, he has a well-rounded academic profile. With 16 years of teaching experience and 2.5 years in the marketing industry, Mr. Arora has a deep understanding of both the academic and corporate aspects of the pharmaceutical field. He has actively participated in various conferences and seminars related to pharmaceuticals, regulatory affairs, and research, showcasing his commitment to professional development and knowledge enhancement. Additionally, he recently completed an online internship in research training, further demonstrating his dedication to staying updated with the latest trends and developments in the pharmaceutical industry.

He has made significant contributions to the field through a series of publications and research endeavors. Notable among his works is a research article on the formulation and development of an herbal cucumber gel for sunscreen and antioxidant activities, published in the 'World Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.' Mr. Arora has also delved into the role of herbal drugs as antidiabetics and comprehensive reviews on adverse drug reactions. His expertise extends to scientific data retrieval from various internet portals and administrative capabilities related to department activities. Additionally, he holds a patent for a formulation involving Kaempferol and its preparation method. His multifaceted skills in pharmaceutical analysis and administration showcase his commitment to advancing pharmaceutical knowledge and practice.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector or specifically pharmacy? 

The key factor that I feel connected to the profession is our love for teaching. We find opportunities in the form of students whom we can nurture for the betterment of the nation. We guide, coach, and motivate them to bring positive changes to their lives and society. Staying well-connected with professional peers in the same field and sharing experiences keeps us motivated and further develops our interest in this field. 


What is your philosophy of leadership and how would you describe your leadership style? 

As the Head of the Pharma Department at IIMT University, I firmly believe that any leader must establish trust among their team members. To be considered trustworthy, it is essential to make commitments, actively listen to their concerns, and maintain regular communication with them. 

In summary, I consider these three qualities as the most crucial: earning their trust, consistent communication, actively listening to their problems and providing them with solutions. 


How does the curriculum of your institute and specifically the Department of Pharma ensure the best practice of the current industry? 

I feel that IMT College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida, offers a comprehensive schedule that covers basic academic guidelines recommended by Abdul Kalam Technical University. Additionally, we incorporate advanced topics to align with industry needs. We regularly conduct guest lectures, seminars, conferences, and value-added courses, including activities related to regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance. We also provide regular PDP (Personality Development Program) classes to enhance students' communication skills, which undoubtedly helps our students in building their future.

What do you think should be your department's top priority over the next five or ten years? 

The next 5-10 years' top priority can be our placement concerns. 

We have achieved good placements in the last couple of years, but we aim to enhance our efforts to provide placements in a variety of segments to our students based on their preferences and specific strengths. This can include various options in regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, research and development roles, and more.

If I talk about my relationship with the students, whether it's during lectures or any interaction on any platform, I feel deeply connected to the students. It fills me with immense enthusiasm to share ideas and provide motivation. It brings us great satisfaction to know that we are making a positive impact on young individuals, helping them shine in their future endeavors. 


Any suggestions or messages that you'd like to give to the current youth in general? 

To the current youth, I would like to share that we should always remain enthusiastic, consistent, and very hardworking because there is no alternative to hard work and regular practice. Skill-building is an essential requirement to ensure a bright future in your career.
