Tell us about your experience in the education industry.

The education industry has undergone a complete transformation, taking a 360-degree turn from its previous state. In the past, before the advent of the Internet, education primarily relied on manual studies, and the educational landscape was vastly different. However, in the present day, even after the challenges posed by COVID-19, we have witnessed a significant shift towards online education, hybrid learning models, and the integration of artificial intelligence. These innovations continue to evolve, with new advancements emerging daily. Despite the ever-evolving nature of education, students have demonstrated their adaptability and resilience in the face of challenges. They are not only embracing these changes but also proving their ability to overcome obstacles and achieve their educational goals. The integration of technology and innovative learning methods has empowered students to excel in this dynamic educational environment. However, it is worth noting that challenges persist, but students are well- equipped to confront and surmount them as they work towards their aspirations.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

Leadership is about walking alongside your fellow team members, not leading them from the front. It means being there for your team, especially when they face challenges or have varying levels of capability. In some cases, if team members are struggling, a leader should stand by them, providing support and guidance. In today’s context, a leader should position themselves at the back of the team, ensuring that team members feel comfortable and empowered to perform at their best. This approach to leadership encourages collaboration and mutual growth, fostering a positive and productive working environment.

What were your expectations about the growth of your college when you joined it? Has the growth happened in that direction according to you?

To some extent, we have achieved success, but as the saying goes, the heart always yearns for more. I aspired to reach the pinnacle of success, and while we have made significant progress, there is still much work to be done. However, I am content knowing that we are fulfilling the vision I had for my institute, my students, my city, my country, and humanity as a whole.

Currently, we are engaged in the & Thela Bag - Hum Indori Jhola Dhaari & campaign. Our goal is to ensure that every student in Indore city has a Jhola bag. To achieve this, our students have been visiting different schools and organizations, collecting reusable cloth from people, which we will recycle into bags and distribute to various schools. Our commitment to making a difference extends to initiatives like Dream to Fit India, where we organize marathons and encourage student participation in Fit India programs.

For instance, our students recently conducted a workshop on eco-friendly Ganesha making and distributed the idols in our adopted village free of charge. This exemplifies our commitment to giving back to society. Our students also conduct workshops in low- literacy areas to educate people on e-ticketing, e-banking, and hygiene practices. I believe in instilling a sense of social responsibility in my students, emphasizing that success is not solely about making money but also about contributing to the betterment of society. Ultimately, it’s about nurturing a well-rounded educational experience that equips our students to navigate all facets of life.

How do you bring in a practical and industry-oriented approach towards students?

I firmly believe in producing well-rounded individuals, not just bookish scholars. I want my students to excel in all aspects of life, from academics to practical skills. This holistic approach prepares them to face the challenges of the professional world, whether they pursue careers, start businesses, or engage in family enterprises. Our students gain valuable experiences during their graduation and post-graduation studies.

With so much experience, you must have had some important lessons to give to the students. Would you like to share some of such lessons?

Don’t limit yourself to being just a reader; strive to be a well-rounded individual. While it’s important to be an avid book reader, reading books provides a comprehensive understanding of cultures and values worldwide. So, become a dedicated book reader. However, it’s equally crucial to go beyond reading and gain practical experience. Don’t merely read about life; immerse yourself in it and be practical. Embrace real-life experiences to complement the knowledge you gain from books.
