Dr. Anand Nighojkar is the Principal of Maharaja Ranjit Singh College of Professional Sciences, Indore INDIA since 2006. He is a Professor of Biotechnology. He did his Ph.D. in 1995 in Biotechnology from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. He has been awarded University Gold Medal and 6 other medals and prizes during graduation from JNKVV, Jabalpur. He did his M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Devi Ahilya University with distinction and was a CSIR-JRF and SRF for three years. He also did his MBA (Executive) from DAVV in 2012. He has been actively involved in the teaching learning process now for over 28 years. He has been contributing to development of the subject at undergraduate and postgraduate level by participating as University Academic Council Member and Member Board of Studies in Biotechnology and Microbiology in various colleges of Indore. He has guided several students for their Ph.D. Degree in Biotechnology. He has also been an examiner and a resource person at various levels for UG and PG students. He has to his credit 22 international publications, 1 Book on Experiments in Biotechnology, 2 Book Chapters and 6 Sequence submissions at GENBank. He has reviewed dozens of Research Papers for over 8 Journals and has participated in various Conferences and Chaired sessions. He has been appointed as Observer in UGC NET Examinations and as Subject Expert in various Inspection Committees and Selection Committees at University and various colleges. He has delivered several invited talks on subjects of scientific and human interest online and offline. He is also the member of University Sports Committee and Observer in various University and District level sports events.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

Swami Vivekananda has inspired me a lot. So when I read one of his quotes, `Education is the manifestation of good already present in man’ I was dedicated to Swami Vivekananda's vision of education. I work towards the manifestation of the inherent goodness within individuals. It's evident that Maharaja Ranjit Singh College of Professional Sciences takes this philosophy to heart by providing students with diverse opportunities to develop their innate potential beyond the confines of their courses. The wide-ranging success stories of our alumni in various fields, including leadership, IPS professions, banking, movies, acting, education, and even associations with renowned companies like Serum Institute and Nucleome , are a testament to the quality of education and guidance our institution offers. Maharaja Ranjit Singh College of Professional Sciences, established in 1984 under the Indo Friends Foundation Trust, embodies a noble mission driven by Dr. R.S. Mahija, a respected eye surgeon and specialist. Rooted in the principle of "Sarbat Da Bhala," the institution operates as a voluntary non-profit organization, holding minority status. What is the upcoming goal for your institute?

With a rich history of 29 years in education, we have continually expanded our course offerings, starting with BSc and progressing to BCom, BA, BBA, BCA, MCom and MSC in various subjects. All these programs are affiliated with prestigious institutions like the Devi Ahilya University, and they have received approval from Higher Education, Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, MBA and MCA courses are approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Looking ahead, our vision extends beyond solidifying our existing courses. We are excited to announce our forthcoming venture into the field of law. Starting next year, we plan to establish Maharaja Law Institute as a new college dedicated to legal education. This strategic expansion will not only broaden our educational offerings but also provide students with valuable opportunities in the field of law. We are committed to nurturing their academic and professional growth, contributing to the community, and continuing our legacy of excellence in education.

Having held an important position in your college you must have had some important lessons for the students. Would you like to share some of such lessons?

In my experience with personality development and teaching, I've noticed that many students tend to have short-term thinking and seek immediate gains. I often use the analogy of farming to emphasize the importance of patience, integrity, and long-term investment. I encourage students to be academically sincere, as their dedication today will lead to a successful and proud future for themselves and their country.
