UEM Jaipur Shines at ‘Cognizance 2024’ Organised by IIT Roorkee

Dikansha Bindal (lead), Chitran Chakraborty, Kaustav Batabyal, Keshav Bhardwaj, ⁠Sayantika Roy, Stuti Modak, Mohammed Mustakeem, Kanjari Bhattacharjee from UEM Jaipur have made UEM proud by securing the 3rd place in the prestigious competition ‘PROD-G’ at Cognizance 2024, the techno-cultural fest of IIT Roorkee.

The PROD-G was an entrepreneurial challenge, that saw fierce competition from some of the brightest minds across the country, where on-spot real-life problem-solving skills and teamwork were put to test. The team won a prize 60,000 INR.

TecXaro, UEM’s startup founded by Turjo Roy, and the team Biswanath Mukherjee, Pranjal Bhattacherjee, Nistha Bhura, Sayak Sardar extended their unwavering guidance, influence, and mentorship that played a pivotal role in this achievement.

Yogesh Taparia, a student at UEM,Jaipur stands as the 2nd Runner Up at Robowars 8kg

Yogesh Taparia and Sumit Lamba, students of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR, have stood 2nd runner-up at "Robowars 8kg" (War between robots) event at Shaastra IIT Madras Technical Festival, representing their Shunya Student Chapter of the University.

Project details: Students used the STM32 Microcontroller to create an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Human Activity Recognition Gadget.

Project name: Hybrid Drone-Rover Vehicle

Project details: In the dynamic realm of robotics and autonomous systems, a compelling innovation has emerged—the Hybrid Drone-Rover Vehicle. This groundbreaking concept fuses the capabilities of a traditional ground rover with the aerial prowess of a drone, offering a versatile and adaptive solution for a myriad of applications.

3rd Position:

Project name: Intelliholder

Project details: Intelliholder is an IOT based ID card holder that is designed particularly as a child safety device. It tracks the location of the child and their parents can access their location whenever they want by simply sending a message "get location" to the holder through their phone. This also allows the parents to set a boundary limitation. If parents want to be alerted if their child crosses a particular location, Intelliholder can do that.

UEM Japur Students shine as champions of Hackathon event at Harvard University

2023 ends on a big high for the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR as we get to know that the students named Raj Krish, Shibagni Bhattacharye, Adwitiya Koley and Snehal Panda, representing Shunya Student Club of the University have emerged as winner in a Hackathon event conducted at the Harvard University partnered by Google and Geeks For Geeks.

Nowadays, detection of drunken people have become a challenge, as people have found means to bypass the alcohol detector through smell. Their project was a software to detect drunken people just by their facial expression and body movement. The project was mentored by their senior Divyansh Sachdev.

UEM,Jaipur Physiotherapy Students Get Impressive Placements

University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR is one such University, where it is ensured that each and every student of BPT (Physiotherapy) is posted at hospitals/big clinics for practical learning, with full sponsorship for the purpose by the University.

Students of BPT (Physiotherapy) 3rd year and 4th year, UEM JAIPUR are undergoing their 1 month clinical postings at the moment.

3rd year students are being posted at Shalby Hospitals and they are having a very good clinical exposure in different wards, ICUs etc. They are able to witness joint replacement operations live, learning under the guidance of their teacher Dr. Imran Khan.

4th year students are posted at Jaipur Physiotherapy Centre and Re-Life Rehabilitation Centre, having great hands-on learning experience through assessment and treatment of various Orthopaedic and Neurological Conditions, under the guidance of their teacher Dr Madhu Teotia.

In a groundbreaking initiative, the students, teachers, and researchers at the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, have unveiled a state-of-the-art Industrial Automation and Robotics Laboratory within the university premises. This innovative facility is a testament to the dedication and ingenuity of the university community, as it was entirely conceived, designed, and developed by the students, teachers, and researchers themselves, without external procurement.

The Industrial Automation and Robotics Laboratory serves as a comprehensive industry simulation hub, offering students a unique opportunity to delve into the intricacies of industrial processes. Focused on hands-on learning, the laboratory incorporates diverse equipment and components, providing a platform for students to gain practical experience in industrial Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) operations. Notably, the laboratory facilitates the study of real-world applications, such as raw material handling conveyor systems and boiler feedwater flow systems, where motor speed variation is crucial for controlling process inputs in line with manufacturing demands.

An integral aspect of the laboratory is the integration of VFD and conveyor systems with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for remote station operations. Students are exposed to Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming using Sequential Function Chart (SFC) and Structured Query Language (SQL) for operational control development, ensuring compliance with industrial standards such as RS485 and Ethernet for SCADA communication.

The laboratory's recent integration of various motor feeder systems, including star-delta starter, reverse forward starter, and Direct-On-Line (DOL) starter panel to the SCADA system, opens avenues for remote motor operation applications across diverse processes such as boiler feedwater flow and gas flow for burners.

At UEM, the emphasis goes beyond theoretical knowledge as the laboratory offers hands-on training in various areas, including feeder panel operation, VFD installation with conveyor systems, VFD programming for brands like ABB and Yaskawa, PLC programming, SCADA development, and In-loop testing. The curriculum also extends to Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures, providing students with a holistic understanding of system testing.

Additionally, the university focuses on nurturing a well-rounded skill set by training students in electrical design for large-scale processes and control panel system design using software platforms like AutoCAD, ETAP, and EPLAN-Pro. This approach ensures that UEM students not only gain expertise but also become industry-ready professionals, well-equipped to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving field of industrial automation and robotics.

UEM Jaipur Students Secure Top Honors in Nextech Innovation Challenge with Revolutionary MedTech Gloves

The University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, proudly announces the outstanding achievement of its first-year students working under the technical body named Shunya Club. The team, comprising Yogesh Tapariya, Raj Krish, Abhishek Gupta, and Suman Maity, achieved first place in the prestigious Nextech Innovation Challenge at IIIT Delhi.

The winning project involves the development of cutting-edge MedTech Gloves, serving as a smart medical assistant for doctors, nurses, and hospital staff. These gloves possess the ability to detect any abnormality in the body functions of the wearer at any given time. In the event of an anomaly, the gloves promptly report the information to the nearest medical facility and the designated doctor, facilitating swift response from the nearest hospital and ambulance. This groundbreaking technology has the potential to save lives by preventing sudden heart attacks and addressing various health conditions.

The UEM Jaipur team secured the coveted first position among 185 competing teams from across the country, showcasing their innovation, dedication, and technical prowess. The successful execution of this project exemplifies the commitment to excellence fostered within the university's academic environment.

The project was carried out under the capable supervision of Divyansh Sachdev, a third-year student of UEM Jaipur and a founding member of the Shunya Club at the university. His guidance and leadership were instrumental in the team's success.

"UEM Jaipur Conducts 6-Day Pre-Industrial Electrical Training, Enhancing Practical Skills for B.Tech Students"

Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Engineering & Management, (UEM), JAIPUR, has organised a "6 days Pre-Industrial Electrical Training" from 10/09/2023 to 15/09/2023 for B.Tech 2nd year and 3rd year students of EE and ECE department of IEM, KOLKATA, where, students learned about the hands-on Training on:-

Automation (4.0), Renewable Energy Generation (PV plant) and DC protection, AC protection system, Induction motor starter panel DOL and Star Delta, 11kV/433 volt stepdown transformer, PLC programming for substation, motor feeder panel, HMI/SCADA programing.

They also learned about Single-phase House wiring, single-phase Energy meter connection, 2-way switch for Staircase lighting, Tube light connection, Ceiling Fan connection, MCB connection, switchboard connection, etc.

This program was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Aniruddha Mukherjee, Dean of UEM Jaipur, Professor Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Registrar of UEM Jaipur and Professor Dr. Ankit Kumar Sharma, HOD of Electrical Engineering Department of UEM Jaipur.

In this training programme total 26 number of students participated.

"UEM Jaipur Hosts Successful Business Idea Pitching Competition, Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurial Growth"

On 20th September, 2023 the Business Idea Pitching competition event hosted by Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) and the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR created waves of success and marked a significant milestone in our entrepreneurial journey at UEM Jaipur.

The event witnessed exciting participation from over 20 teams, each brimming with ambition to transform their innovative concepts into reality. These concepts spanned across diverse domains, including healthcare, fashion, automobile, manufacturing, and technology.

Prof. Dr. Preeti Sharma, Prof. Dr. G. Uma Devi, and Prof. Dr. Umesh Gurnani played pivotal roles as judges and mentors. Their invaluable assessments and guidance significantly enhanced the overall quality of the pitches, providing aspiring participants with crucial insights.

One of the highlights was the opportunity for select ideas to secure a place in the Incubation Center, a priceless resource for transforming these innovative concepts into tangible, successful businesses.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCEMENTS IN PHYSIOTHERAPY-2023 (ICAP-2023)

Department of Physiotherapy, University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR organized 2 days “International Conference on Advancements in Physiotherapy (ICAP2023)” on 26th and 27th August 2023 at the University campus.

The theme of the conference was “Enlightening the advancements and exploring the new scope in Physiotherapy.” ICAP 2023 provided an opportunity for researchers, academicians and students to discuss and exchange ideas on issues, trends and developments in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. The conference aimed to bring together intellects from different regions of India to emphasize dissemination of ongoing trends in the fields of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Research papers were invited describing original work in the above mentioned fields. All accepted papers was presented in person during the parallel sessions of the conference and the accepted presented papers was submitted for publication in Scopus and UGC Care listed journals.

The inaugural session began with lamp lightning ceremony by the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof.(Dr.) Biswajoy Chatterjee and Registrar Prof.(Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Sharma followed by the felicitation of the guests.

In his inaugural speech Vice- Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Biswajoy Chatterjee have emphasized on the importance of physiotherapy and motivated participants through his inspirational talk. He also emphasized on the need of such Conferences for updating knowledge of Physiotherapists in emerging fields. Then Honourable Prof.(Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Registrar delivered his valuable thoughts about the Profession of physiotherapy and also Cheered the entire organizing committee.

There were two Pre-conference Hands-on workshops organized on 26th August 2023.

The first workshop was taken by Dr. Harpreet Singh Sachdeva on “Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation”. He is an Academician and a Clinical Neuro-Physiotherapist with an experience of more than 10 years at AIIMS New Delhi. In this workshop, 40 Participants from different colleges and universities of Jaipur learned about the PNF technique and its application in various diseases.

The second workshop had been taken by Dr. Suryamani on “JUST THRUST: Spinal articulation and Manipulation techniques”. He is a Founder and Director of Prokinesia Healthcare, Instructor in Prokinesia Academy and Co-founder, Director of Medrise International Education Pvt. Ltd. He is former Clinical Director in Goodhab, Health and Wellness Clinic. In this workshop, also 40 Participants from different colleges and universities of Jaipur learned about the Spinal articulation and Manipulation Techniques and their implication in various diseases.

Both the workshops proved to be very beneficial for all the participants as these both are recent techniques and all the participants learned the techniques hands-on.

In the conference, many renowned Physiotherapists from all across the globe participated.

The Guest of Honor of the conference was Dr Ali Irani, HOD of Physiotherapy and Sports in Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital, Mumbai. He is also former physiotherapist of Indian world cup winning cricket team from 1987-1997. He also has extensive experience of working with professional athletes at national and international level. He was also one of the Keynote Speakers in the conference.

There were three other Keynote speakers:-

1. Dr. Seema Grover, HOD, Department of Physiotherapy, Apollo Hospital, New Delhi and Certified Lymphedema Therapist.
2. Dr. R. Harihara Prakash, a renowned physiotherapist, working as Professor and Principal in KM Patel institute of Physiotherapy, Anand, Gujarat.
3. Dr. AGK Sinha, a senior Professor at Punjabi University, Patiala and member in NAAC and UGC.

There were seven Eminent Speakers:-

2. Dr. Harpreet Sachdeva, Senior Physiotherapist at AIIMS, New Delhi, Certified NDT and PNF therapist,

The 1st day session was concluded by Dr Shantanu Sharma, Prof. and HOD of Department of Physiotherapy, who had expressed his wholehearted gratitude towards both the Resource Persons who had shared their valuable time and experience for this conference. The Student Orientation Programme for the MBA HHM at UEM Jaipur

The Student orientation programme for the MBA HHM - First year students was held on 1st August , 2023 at 9:30 AM onwards at the University of Engineering & Management, (UEM), JAIPUR City Office. The Programme aims to introduce the incoming batch to various academic and extracurricular activities of the university.

The event was organized by the ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with Codesta Coding Club, both student organizations at UEM Jaipur, and was held under the auspices of the Innovation and Incubation Centre (IIC). The esteemed resource person, Mr. Kuldeep Sharma, a renowned marketing champion, Tailblazer mentor, Salesforce Marketing Cloud consultant, and net-zero cloud specialist, graced the event with his expertise and knowledge.

The bootcamp kicked off with an inspiring talk on the "Journey to Salesforce" where Mr. Kuldeep Sharma shared his own experiences and insights on how he embarked on a successful career in the Salesforce ecosystem. UEM, Jaipur Conducts a Workshop

The Codesta Coding Club of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR, in collaboration with the IIC and ACM Student Chapter UEMJ, has arranged a workshop focusing on Prototype/Process Design and Development for B.Tech CSE & AIML students. The workshop was led by Professor Jyoti Khandelwal, Department of CSE, UEM JAIPUR. Objective of the workshop was to equip students with valuable insights into Prototype/Process Design and Development, fostering innovation and creativity through a collaborative brainstorming platform.

Student orientation programme at UEM Jaipur

Classes have commenced smoothly for the 1st year (2023 admission batch) of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR.

The student orientation programme for the first year students was held on 17 July, 2023 at 11:00 AM onwards at the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR. The Programme aims to introduce the incoming batch to various academic and extracurricular activities of the university.

It was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee (Vice-Chancellor, UEM Jaipur), Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma (Registrar, UEM Jaipur), Prof. Dr. Anirudhha Mukherjee (Dean, UEM Jaipur), HODs and faculty members. This Student Orientation is a warm-up session for students before they are ready to hit the ground for their final performance, for a successful career.

Corporate Cricket League

The University of Engineering and Management (UEM), Jaipur hosted the inaugural Corporate Cricket League on March 4 and 5, 2023, at the UEM Jaipur Cricket Stadium.

Teams from the UEM, Rajasthan Police, Rajasthan Attorneys Association, Rajasthan Press Club, Rajasthan Medical Association, Rajasthan Electricity Division (JVVNL), and the Rajasthan Chartered Accountants Association participated in the league. Each group gave a wonderful performance.

After two days of exciting competition, the tournament’s eight teams were eliminated. The final game was a match between Re-Life Hospital and the UEM squad. The Cricket League was won by Re-Life hospital. The winning team was awarded trophies and INR 25,000/-; the runner-up team was given INR 15,000/- in addition to their trophies. Open Placement Platform- UEM Jaipur

The government of Rajasthan, Department of Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship in association with the University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur organized an open placement platform named ‘The Jaipur Grand Job Mela’ on 2nd March 2023 which was attended by 60+ companies and 2423 students. A total of 636 students got job offers and will be called for further rounds at company premises. Some of the major companies that visited the campus were Axis Bank, Careerhollic, Crack-ED (Cardekho Group), Fusion Business Solutions (P) Limited, Fusion Micro Finance Ltd., Justdial Ltd., Kotak Mahindra Bank, Quess Corp Ltd. Sanska International Educational Services Pvt. Ltd.Save Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. Startup Labs Infotech Pvt. Ltd., Sugmya Finance Pvt. Ltd. and many more.

Placements

UEM, Jaipur witnessed impressive placements in the last academic session. The highest salary offer at UEM Jaipur went up to INR 72 lakhs per annum and the average salary offer was INR 6 lakhs per annum. Most of the students got more than 2 Job offers and had several interesting job opportunities to choose from.

Basant Utsav’ 23 

On the occasion of Holi, students and teachers of the UEM, Jaipur celebrated with a cultural festival - Basant Utsav. It was a colorful and vibrant celebration of the festival of Holi. The event was held on the campus grounds on 7th March 2023.

The students enthusiastically participated in various activities, including folk songs and dances, heralding the arrival of the spring season. The students' performances were a testament to the rich cultural heritage of India, and the event provided an enjoyable experience for all participants. The event concluded with the inspiring words of Prof Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Pro-Vice Chancellor of UEM Jaipur who were witnessed reminiscing and sharing their memories of Holi with the audience

International Conference

The 2nd International Conference on Human-Centric Smart Computing (ICHCSC 2023) will be organized by the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur on 5th and 6th July 2023 in New Delhi. Interested students can participate by submitting their papers whose last date is 31st March 2023. All accepted and presented papers will be published in the book series of Springer named Smart Innovation, Systems, and Technologies (SIST). This book series is indexed in SCOPUS. International Women’s Day

In continuation of a series of events to celebrate International Women’s Day, the Department of English, UEM Jaipur today organized the Jingle Convention, a poetry recitation event by eminent poets and authors on the theme ‘ Women as Foundation of Value-Based Society’. Many Award-winning poets and authors namely Ms. Pankhuri Sinha (Bihar), Ms. Mili Das (West Bengal), Dr. Shalini Yadav (Rajasthan), and Dr. Firoz Khan (Rajasthan) were present to mark the event. The event was chaired by Prof. (Dr) Rajul Bhargava, a Former Professor, at the University of Rajasthan. The poets and educationists hailing from different parts of India made a scathing attack on the society for its falling ethical benchmarks, venting their ire over rising crime against women, her status in society, the rising threat of AI [artificial intelligence] and war, etc. The emphasis was on creating positive literature.

Throughout the session, students, participants, and listeners together enjoyed powerful, inspirational, and passionate poems on the themes of Women, love, life, death, and migration. Many poems reflected the role of women in building a strong foundation of value-based society and women-related issues. It was clear from the session that poetry touches the hearts of everyone, transcending language barriers and bringing us together. The whole event was full of sensibility and sensitivity towards humanity and Poetry, making the event a gala success.

The master of ceremonies, Ms. Shreya Pareek (BBA II Year) and Ms. Vandana Sharma (BCA I Year) were appreciated for being wonderful anchors. The entire event was coordinated by the members of the Department of English, Dhanika (Women Cell), and The Speech Society.

Aeromodelling Club

Student members of UEM JAIPUR Aeromodelling Club organized a workshop - FALCONIX on 11th and 12th March 2023 as a prerequisite for the upcoming tech-fest TechUtopia 2023 coordinated by Dr. Anurag Hamilton.

In this workshop, students learned how to design and build an RC aircraft. RC aircrafts built during the workshop will be used in the final competition on 18th March 2023.

National Service Scheme

NSS (National Service Scheme) conducted NIC (National Integration Camp) for Rajasthan in the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, wherein 250 student volunteers of NSS from 13 different states of the country participated in a 7 days long camp.

Distinguished Speakers Program

ACM Student Chapter & Department Of Computer Science & Engineering, University Of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur in association with IIC & IQAC organized a Distinguished Speakers Program by Dr. Sunil Kumar Vuppala, who is a demonstrated thought leader in AI, analytics, and Internet of Things with 16+ years of industrial and research experience. He is the Director – Data Science, at Ericsson Global AI Accelerator (GAIA), Bangalore. Before joining Ericsson, Dr. Sunil worked in Oracle, Infosys R&D, and Philips Research. The session was held on 9th March 2023 on Zoom Meetings. 

RTI Summit

Students of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur actively participated in two days RTI Summit at Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj & Gramin Vikas Sansthan, Jaipur (Rajasthan) on 25-26 March 2023.

They had the opportunity to know and learn the whereabouts of the Transparent, Sensible, and Accountable legislative and Executive System in India. Students showed enthusiasm and participation for better democratic and equitable Indian territory.

Brainy Bones Quiz

Students of the Physiotherapy Department organized the ‘Brainy Bones’ quiz event. The primary aim of the quiz program was to share basic medical knowledge among the students and to explore the limits of memory. The event was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Imran Khan.

International Management Conclave

The program was inaugurated by Mr. Dhanpat Raj Dhariwal, Founder of Vision 2025 and Mr. Anil Agarwal, Managing Director of NAV Back Office, Jaipur along with Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee, Vice-Chancellor,Prof. Dr. Pradeep Sharma, Registrar and Prof. Dr. Preeti Sharma, Convener & Head of School of Management, UEM Jaipur.

AICTE LITE EV program: UEM JAIPUR

UEM Jaipur has signed MoU for AICTE LITE EV Program. The Minor Degree Programme is based on the National Model Curriculum designed and maintained by Industry Experts. With the same rhythm, AICTE and pupil first Launched a LITE Electric Vehicles Faculty Development Program - Cohort 2 to train the faculty members.

The University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur/Kolkata Competition - CONNECTECH (UEM Technical Bonanza) was held in ChowMun / Jaipur (Sanskar Srijan) and featured the largest inter-school technical programme among the best schools of the district. Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee,Suman Chakraborty, Registrar Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Krishanu Banerjee, Prof. Ravindra Manju, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Management (UEM), Jaipur formally inaugurated the CONNECTECH (UEM Technical Bonanza) programme for inter-school technical competition. However, the runners-up for 2023 were Champion School, Bridge School, and Aman Senior Secondary School in Jaipur, Sikar, respectively.

UEM JAIPUR is holding the NSS NATIONAL INTEGRATION CAMP 2023

University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR is holding the NSS NATIONAL INTEGRATION CAMP 2023 with 200 NSS volunteers from 12 different states of India. Yesterday was the formal inauguration of the event where the chief guest was Swami Sumedhanand Saraswati, Member of Parliament for Sikar District, Rajasthan and the Guest of honour was Dr. S. P. Bhatnagar, Regional Director NSS, Rajasthan.

Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee, Vice-Chancellor, UEM JAIPUR and Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Registrar, UEM JAIPUR welcomed all the participants and described mission and vision of UEM Jaipur. Proceeding further Dr. Bhatnagar briefed about the National integration camp and the importance of it. Then chief guest Swami Sumedhanand Saraswati enlightened the audience with his views and motivated the young minds to dedicate their life for the development of the Nation.

Later there was a small cultural event where various art forms were performed from various parts of India like - Bihu of Assam, Garba of Gujarat, Bhangra of Punjab, Naddi of Himachal Pradesh, Jhijhiya of Bihar, Ghoomar of Haryana, Braj ki Holi of Uttar Pradesh, Kalbeliya of Rajasthan etc.Truly the stage became a reflection of India.

The camp will continue till 5th of March under the supervision of Dr. B. S. Yadav, Program Officer, NSS & Director, Physical Education,UEM JAIPUR.

UEM Jaipur organizes Inter-School Technical Competition - CONNECTECH

In the recent past the booming of science and technology has been the basic aim for all the educational institutions. They are in a constant trial of making an effort to increase the sense of awareness and they are now willing to glorify science from the basic education. The government has also taken basic measures to find ways to implement the need of science and technology on basic education and hence it has started its mission of imparting the knowledge of basic science and technology as school education is the basic root and where implementation of knowledge gets a rigid platform for the future. Keeping these methods of implementing the knowledge of science and technology in basic education University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, Kolkata organized the biggest Inter-School Technical Competition - CONNECTECH (UEM Technical Bonanza)2020 amongst the top schools of Rajasthan recently.

Science students from all over Jaipur , Sikar and other parts of Rajasthan participated in this event The event consisted of mainly foru parts, Nirmana which is the science model competition, pythagoras star- mathematics competition for the junior batches, pythagoras pro –mathametics competition for the senior batches and Tech art which is the technical drawing competition for the junior and the senior batches. The main motive behind creating this event is to engage the students where they will get a sense of competition will get an exposure out of their schools which will motivate them to learn and pursue the elements of science. Through these events students might get the chance to critically evaluate themselves in the field of science and technology.

UEM Jaipur organizes an interactive session on D2C Foundation Course

Mr. Raghunandan, Master trainer of Entrepreneurship, Wadhwani Foundation, Formerly National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) visited the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur and took interactive sessions on D2C Foundation course. The event was organized for the 1^st semester MBA students.

About D2C or Direct to the customer: The program fabricates the bridge of extensive positive liaison between the customer and the dealer. The concept was developed in China and it is known to be the process of purchasing goods and products overseas on behalf of the people living in the country. The procedure of developing communication skills and smartness among the students and developing a glimpse of the market scenario was the main motive of the foundation course. The course would help the students in the near future to develop as an entrepreneur. 

About Mr. Raghunandan: He has more than two decades of experience spanning across Industry and Academia. Midst of these, he is also an Entrepreneur with initiatives across Education, Healthcare, Human Resource Management, and Green Management domains. Currently, he is associated with Wadhwani Foundation - National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) with a vision to create successful Entrepreneurs across the country. The process of indulging the youth into the practice of doing something of their own is a way of creating a self-made environment. These foundation courses are done at a regular interval at UEM, Jaipur and the procedure of innovation is done throughout the year. UEM Jaipur creates an AI-based Voice Control Virtual Assistant

The University of Engineering and Management (UEM Jaipur), has designed MEGAMOR - an Artificial Intelligence(AI) based voice-controlled virtual assistant for the computer. The model is created by Sreyaskam Ghoshal 2nd year student of UEM Jaipur. As per Ghoshal, you can instruct it to do different functions by giving voice commands.

About MEGAMORE: This is a computer-based application meant to give reminders based on time, places, or people. It can send emails and text, manage your calendar and keep you up to date, play music, podcasts, and radio stations, chit chat with you, find facts, files, places, and info from Google, YouTube, Wikipedia and more.

Artificial intelligence or "AI" is an imitation of the human intellect which is exercised by machines. The world has emerged in the fabrication of new technologies which would reduce human efforts and Artificial Intelligence is the way which can show a new path through which the authenticity and quality of work diminishing the errors.

Wipro Conducts Placement Drive at UEM Jaipur

Wipro conducted an Elite National Talent Hunt to select talents from across the country. Placement is an essential part of students' life. More than placement, being able to work with big names in the industry is the dream of every student. Universities and colleges nowadays are also concerned about the placements of their students. It was a three-day event held at UEM Jaipur. Wipro conducted this event smoothly and a pool of students was selected from all over India. 

Prior to this, students of UEM Jaipur 2020 outgoing batch got selected in companies like TCS Digital, TCS, Infosys, LG Electronics, Keerti Technologies, Infoobjects Software, ICICI Bank, CvDragon India, Devoy Softech Pvt Ltd., Skytech Solutions, Ksolves India Pvt. Industrial Interaction plays an important role in developing the vision of students to enhance their managerial skills. Keeping this in mind, School of Management, University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur organized an Industrial Visit to Saras Dairy, Jaipur recently. All the students were briefed about the overall process of the plant and were given insights into the technology involved in the production unit.

Brief: Saras Dairy is one of the largest packaging units of milk and milk products in Rajasthan. Its objective is to make India self-sufficient in milk production.

UEM management students visit SEBI

A visit to the Securities and Exchange Board of India was organised for the students of the School of Management, University of Engineering & Management (UEM) recently. The objective of this tour was to impart knowledge and give the required exposure to the students to the Capital market. With this, the students also learned about the roles and responsibilities of the Board in regulating the market. 

The session started with the students learning about the history of SEBI; it’s working and standing in the current operating exchanges in India. Mr. Sanjay Singh Bhati, DGM at SEBI Jaipur office explained the role and relevance of SEBI to the students. He said that the Board acts as a regulator, and hence, it cannot enforce anything on anybody in the case of even frauds. However, he also cleared that their motto is investor safety and investor awareness. 

Under SEBI preview, Mr. Gaurav Khinvsara said that all transactions made in the securities market are subject to the guidelines of SEBI. All the primary and secondary market transactions done in stocks are under the preview of SEBI.

For the students, the visit was very beneficial as they learned various important aspects of the Board. The learning session was followed by interactive Questions & Answers round wherein the students got to speak their minds and share their queries. The officials listened to every query of the students patiently and answered all the questions well.

The University of Engineering and Management (UEM Jaipur) organised Govt. of India, DST, NSTEDB sponsored program. The idea of organising this workshop was to inculcate the fundamentals, key concepts of entrepreneurship among students.

• The speakers for the day one were:- Richa Mahendra, Director, Finesse, Jaipur, Vipin Sharma, Director, Shubh Lagn Pvt Ltd, Jaipur.
• The speaker for day two was: - Prof. T. K. Jain, Professor, and Social Entrepreneur, Jaipur.

The students of the University learned various Entrepreneur Skills essential for a startup. They presented their business ideas in front of the Venture capitalists and solved various case studies.

The speakers stressed on leveraging on the opportunities identified and converting those into business models. He also asked students to apply for internship projects in startups rather than bigger companies, so that they can develop the necessary skills. The participants were divided into teams and were asked to propose a business idea that solves a problem. A buddy session was also held wherein, they all validated their business ideas with their buddy teams. The speaker explained to them about 9 main building blocks of the business model and he also showed a video about how to pitch the business idea. Overall it was a great learning experience for the students.

UEM Jaipur organises IoT landscape in E-Vehicles

The Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, UEM Jaipur with IEEE UEMJ Student Branch organised a Webinar by Dr. Allabaksh Naikodi, at the UEM Jaipur premises recently. The topic of the event was – “IoT landscape in E-Vehicles/Mobility".

About Dr. Naikodi, has over 32 years of experience, is presently heading the Advanced Technology Department of Mahindra Electric - the Electric Vehicle Company of Mahindra. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (Chennai), India in 1995. He is a member of many technical committees including the expert committee-Govt. Of India for EV sub-systems development and BIS ETD51 for charging systems. He has filed several patents in EV Technologies."
