What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

Electrical engineering has a global impact, giving chances for everyone to be successful as an electrical engineer. Throughout your career, you can continuously contribute to the environment by developing solutions to preserve energy. Furthermore, the global focus nowadays is on green energy, where engineers get a chance to develop creative innovations. Electrical engineers get the opportunity to change and transform the world. As an electrical engineering employee or an entrepreneur, you can change the existing technologies or develop innovative solutions to deal with real-world issues. An engineer's learning curve does not end in their academic period. However, the never-ending learning curve makes them rush to develop better innovations tomorrow.

What are the best practices in the program you are doing?

We have adopted an experimental learning system for this course. We make use of case studies and practical learning to emphasise and solidify their classroom learning. Our teachers also use scenario-based teaching where industry scenarios are introduced in the classroom and students brainstorm to solve them. Industrial visits also take place to increase the functional knowledge of the key concepts.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

At the end of the program students will be able to solve any problems and deal with live scenarios in their field of work. They will be proficient enough to handle any situation in their working life without the help of an expert. Our students are also taught to keep learning and improve their performance by designing new technologies to control and use power in a better and efficient manner.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

Being a technical subject, this course is very challenging because the basics of the subject need to be learned properly. It is important for students to learn the basics and we try hard to inculcate this into the minds of the students from the first semester. We need to develop a strategy to make students feel the subject is a regular subject and make them concentrate on thinking and applying the knowledge they gain to the issues around them.

What are the types of projects that the students are working on this program through this program?

Our students work on numerous projects. However, regardless of the topic, we make them start their project work from scratch, i.e., we slowly start with seminars on the concerned subject, next to the mini project and the main project. We make them focus on recent trends, such as automation of the power supply and on any other designs that improve the performance of the electrical industry and incorporate them into their projects.

What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

There are plenty of options after completing this course. Some jobs our students have worked at are in research, and core side jobs. Our students can also opt for jobs in the software industry. There are plenty of opportunities in foreign countries as well.

What do you think are your roles and responsibilities?

My role is to raise awareness and give education on electricity, which is very important in our lives. As a teacher, my responsibility is to ensure that my students have complete knowledge of the key concepts and the basics. This will enable them to be able to compete with other people in society to secure a job.
