Field of Study:
- MSc in Mechanical Engineering at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is a 2-year (4 semesters) program.
- The program starts in the winter semester/summer semester.
- It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
- The program deepens and expands knowledge and skills in the analysis, design, simulation, optimization and construction of technical systems.
- In addition to the classic lectures and exercises, the program also includes application-oriented forms of learning, including a practical mechanical engineering tutorial and industry-related advanced design projects, through which students can gain initial experience in basic and applied research.
- In the project area, it is also possible to choose the option of twelve-week external project work in industry and thus to apply the theoretical knowledge to the professional world while still studying.
- Due to the great freedom of choice in the Master's degree, students decide for themselves whether they would like to receive a broad education in general mechanical engineering or choose one of the following specializations offered:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Sustainable Use of Resources
- Clean Energy and Process Engineering

Tuition Fees
- There is no tuition fee for international students. Students have to submit the semester fee which is around 280 EUR per semester.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must complete a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
- The related fields include a UG degree in engineering, engineering science, computational mathematics, applied computing, applied mathematics, computer information systems.
Language Requirement:
- Students must pass the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (DSH-2) as evidence that student's spoken and written command of the German language is adequate for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs for which the language of instruction is German.
- Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Or, completed a 3-year UG degree from an accredited institution

Following are the required Documents:
- Resume/CV - This provides a summary of a student's experience and skills.
- Higher Secondary School Certificate - The certificate provided by the education board after completion of the Higher secondary education and list of grades and subjects in the original language, and a certified translation (certified copies).
- School Leaving Certificate – School-leaving certificate in the original language and a certified translation (certified copies) is required.
- Language Proof – Proof of students’ language skills (certified copy).
- English Language Requirement - This shows the test score of English Proficiency Exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE, etc.
