  • The courses are quite challenging. The concepts are explained during the lecture and we are expected to understand the various use cases of the concepts. They are mostly Practical since it's a Fachhochschule in Germany.
  • The positive is that the course keeps you engaged but at the same time the negative is that if the concepts are not understood correctly, it affects your performance in the exams. We have around 3 slots of lectures, each 1.5 hours. The crowd is majorly indian (85%). We have around 35 students on average in each class.

Fees

  • The fee varied each semester but was within the range of 350 to 400 euros. The major part was for the Deutschland Semester ticket, which allows you to travel free of cost on regional trains throughout Germany. The rest is for textbooks for the German courses.
  • The german courses are really helpful because in the end it's very important to know and understand the language of a country to live and work here.

  • I don't know about what percentage of people secure a job within 6 months. But the average salary range is like 50000 euros/annum.
  • The highest salary can be around $65,000, and the lowest can be $45,000. Students find jobs using portals like Xing, Stepstone, the university job portal, LinkedIn, attending job fairs, networking.

  • The courses I took were not from my specialization at my home university, but even then I was able to score among the top 10 in every class. The classes were a mix of both theory and practical, with a 75% weightage to theory and 25% to lab components.
  • Even during the theory sessions, the professor often gave several examples of his own projects that helped understand the topic much more easily.
  • The lab sessions were a bit fast-paced and the deadlines were very tight throughout the semester.
  • 3-4 classes were scheduled per day, depending on the slots taken by the students; the timing can be in the morning or evening slots.
  • The average number of students in the class was roughly 20–25.
  • There were roughly 85% Indian students in the course.

Fees

  • Being a public university, there were no fees as such, but we needed to pay a per-semester fee of around 284 euros to get our student IDs (which is also the travel ticket to anywhere in Germany using buses, trams and local trains).
  • The Visa process needs a blocked amount of roughly 10 lakh rupees for 1 year (5 lakh for me, 6-month period), which is released every month so that we can cover the living and other expenses.
  • Once we have the student ID, we don't have to pay a single penny over travel in Germany as soon as the ID is valid (it renews every semester).
  • The hostels cost a fortune, ranging from 350 Euros to 650 Euros and even 1000+ Euros for studio apartments. My hostel, which was a 3-room shared apartment, cost me around 533 euros a month.
  • My monthly expense was roughly 700 to 800 euros, as I cooked my own food and ate outside during exams. A 1-time meal cost around 15 euros.

Till now I have not given any kind of exam as its only four months from now to join college. Overall the study pressure is very less as compared to India. I don't have that much of friends due to pandemic. I don't have any clear idea related to clubs and societies in universities as I came to university four months before in pandemic. Whenever lockdown will open I will get introduced to all the facilities. There is a community of Indians in Germany, where students can find solution to there problems. University offers multiple courses in English and media. This university is highly reputed for the courses related to media.

I did not refer any senior or review community for college. I did all research related to college on google myself only. University offers multiple courses in English and media. This university is highly reputed for the courses related to media.
