Candidates can download all the books in e-format (pdfs) to refer for their exams as they are available for free. Candidates are advised to check out the NIOS Class 12 Syllabus and study/refer to its reference books as a primary source of information.

NIOS Study Material: How to Download
NIOS Class 12 study material provided on the official website is made available in 2 formats - DAISY and pdfs, Candidates can select the one they would like to opt for.
- Visit the official website of NIOS
- On the home page, scroll down and select the option online course material.
- Under this, select the course you are looking for a reference of (as in our case, Senior Secondary).
- This link redirects you to a new tab where you can see all the subjects offered under that Class / Grade.
- Now, click on the required subject and it redirects you to a new page where you can download the pdfs for all the chapters individually OR in DAISY form. Daisy form will contain a zip / compressed file with the audio formats of the chapters.
- You can download the DAISY form and extract all the files and listen to the audio in a sequential manner to get a good grip of the subject knowledge.

Ques: Can I pass the NIOS Board examination just from the prescribed study material?
Ans: YES, the study material provided by the NIOS Board is strictly adhered to their syllabus and is sufficient to clear the NIOS Board examination.
Ques: How many subjects can I select post registration for NIOS Class 12?
Ans: A total of 5 subjects are to be selected, in which at least 1 language can be opted and a maximum of 2 languages. Apart from these 5 subjects, candidates can also select 2 extra subjects of their choice and interest.
Ques: Post registration, what is the validity of the admit card of the NIOS Board?
Ans: The validity of the NIOS Board is 5 years from the date of admission.
Ques: How many attempts can a candidate take to clear the NIOS Board Senior Secondary examination?
Ans: The candidate will be allowed a maximum of 9 attempts in the admission period to successfully obtain a pass certificate.
Ques: Is it possible for a candidate to change his / her study center?
Ans: YES, it is possible but the candidate will have to apply for the same on the online portal by requesting a service and providing valid reasons for the required change along with the documents and payment of INR 400/-
