MTech CAD/CAM Admission Process
The admission is mostly carried out through the entrance examination or merit basis.
- Candidates need to apply for the given entrance examination after satisfying the eligibility condition.
- After conducting the entrance exam, the institute will declare the result and release their cut off.

MTech CAD/CAM: Entrance Examinations
- For the MTech in Computer-Aided Design or Computer Aided Manufacturing admission, there are two entrance examinations which are GATE and CET.
- GATE: All India Level Exam where the conducting bodies are IITs and IIScs. It is a Computer Based Exam which is conducted once every year. The GATE Exam will be conducted in February. GATE is a combination of multiple-choice and numerical based questions. 1 or 2 marks for each correct answer and 0.33 or 0.66 marks for wrong answer depending upon the section. There is no negative marking in the three-hour-long exams.
- UCEED: The UCEED programmes students who have passed Class XII (or equivalent ) in 2020 are eligible for UCEED. IIT Bombay divided the examination into two-part. There are two modes of this exam i.e. Computer Based Test and Pen and Paper Based Test.
- Karnataka PGCET: The conducting body is Karnataka Examination Authority. It is a pen and paper-based exam of 150 minutes. Candidates can claim seats in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region. It includes every core subjects of the science stream; Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. One and Two marks are allotted for every correct answer. Luckily PGCET does not have any negative marking scheme.
- UPSEE: It is conducted by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. The mode of the examination is online while certain changes can be observed in the exam centre. It is a state-level examination for entrance into Uttar Pradesh colleges and Universities. It is a three-hour long examination. The total number of papers is 11 with syllabus according to the subject opted for.
- TANCET: The conducting body is Anna University on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government. The exam is of pen and paper mode as of now changes can be made due to the pandemic, TANCET is expected to be conducted in the month of May for two hours. TANCET offers many other courses like M.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Arch, M.E. MCQ based questions from Quantitative Aptitude and English Grammar, Subject Knowledge. The exam is segregated into three parts which consist of Engineering Mathematics, Basic Engineering and Sciences and Subject Related. The marking scheme of this exam is one-third of marks is deducted for every incorrect answer and for every correct answer one mark is allotted.
