Remarks:

I chose this university on the basis of the college placement opportunities as well as it's excellent research facility. I saw it in various online website and it was also suggested by my bachelor's degree professors. The college is excellent in wide range of electives that can be chosen on the basis of interest. It was according to my number of electives opted. I had various offers available still I chose this college just in order to ensure my interest is in tact. No I didn't take any loan, because I had scholarship sanction from the University itself plus I had part time lecturer job in university for undergrads.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely given in the basis of international basis not autonomous. It was upto date till the global market is considered. Not yet it will be given in final semester. All faculties are best but namely head of the department Pallavi ma'am.

Course Curriculum Overview:

M.Tech in Environmental Engineering is basically research driven course. The 1st year of college has 10 subjects which are mostly related to actual problems we are facing in outer world. The 2nd is totally based on the research and has a potential to identify the actual issues we are facing. The course offers more practical approach and offers great success rate in tackling the Environmental issues. Most of the students opted for industry based issues those are impacting the Environment. Overall its great course with more practical view.

Campus Life:

The college has really nice campus. Campus has good greenery and has more natural construction. Also it has around 50% gender ratio with a big sport event every year. Robotics is also part of Pioneer named event. The college offers admission to all religious people and has complete transparency in the process. The college has all the trustees from Industrial background which I think is the best part. It offers great opportunity for recruitment. There are no political involvement in the college, is another good thing about this college.

College Events:

Mainly in our engineering college three events are celebrated all over the year . During February there is national level technical event called FOOTPRINTS is organised, which is a three day event . It contains all the technical events such as robowar, track follower robot etc. Then in September there come non technical events which is cultural event called PARAMARSH it contains all adventurous events such as roadies, spying game , FIFA etc. The last event is PRERNA which is organised for the upliftment of physically disabled people.

Remarks:

They are so many positive points of the college such as good infrastructure, better sports facilities, fully WiFi networks, fully equipped laboratory, cleanness in the campus, cafeteria and good canteen. But there is negative point which politics because some students are involved in political group and they are just making senseless topics to create issue and getting the headline in the newspaper which is affecting the reputation of the college .

Ques. What are my career prospects after doing an M.Tech course in environmental engineering from IIEST Shibpur?

● Top Answer By Indrani Bhattacharya on 05 Mar 21

Ans. For an MTech in Environmental Engineering, the best option will be to attempt GRE or IELTS and pursuing a Ph.D. abroad.  There are several research job opportunities for Environmental Engineering students in India but these jobs do not pay well. The reason behind this is the Govt. has not taken initiative to improve in this field. Which is not the case abroad.  If your only alternatives are institutes like NIT Durgapur, it will be better to go for IIEST Shibpur. Pursue a B.E. in Civil Engineering and after that do your MTech in Environmental Engineering. You will get way better research exposure at IIEST Shibpur. Read more

Ques. Will it be worth doing mtech in transportation from iit bhubaneswar instead choosing water resources from iit kgp ?

● Top Answer By Disha Gupta on 14 Aug 20

Ans. This totally depends upon your interest in the subject. You should give preference to the subject rather than a degree from college because your subject will shape your future. The school of water resources is one of the pioneer centers for education and training in water quality and quantity management. There is an advanced research water quality lab in IIT Kharagpur. It is an old IIT and will provide more opportunities for higher studies in foreign universities, people also go to foreign universities from IIT Bhubaneswar but opportunities in IIT KGP will be more. The water resources have limited scope considering the Indian employment scenario. If you are giving preference to the subject then join IIT Bhubaneswar. If your preference is not the subject then join IIT KGP because exposure and opportunities will be more in IIT KGP.
