Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The fees are a little on the expensive side, but great exposure to patients. One should choose any college only after understanding the whole college fee structure. The college is clear regarding the fees to be paid.

Admission:

I applied here after my Bachelors in Dental Surgery as it was the priority for the admission for the master of dental surgery. The second admission criteria were the NEET-MDS exam which was also mandatory as the admission evaluation process was based on it. I applied through the offline platform that is at the college campus and the counseling was also there only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The structure of course was quite good as there were many practical subjects and numerous topics that were only taught with practical training in the lab. Exam structure was different here as there was a small test that counted for the final result and the practicals performed in the lab also and the university took mid-term exams along with the yearly exams.

I completed my BDS from MAIDS itself and applied for the MDS in Periodontology, after the completion of my 5th year internship. The application form to be filled is All India Dental Entrance Exam. The percentage from the bachelors (50%) and from the entrance (50%) determines the admission out of the limited 16 seats, 2 seats for each specialised course (total 8 majors). I got my name in the second list, after that I was asked to submit my verified documents and photographs along with the fees. The course was 3 years long with the last one as an intern year.

Campus Life:

The compass had all the desired labs-computer,technical, medical etc; the playgrounds offered many sports activities like basketball, cricket etc. we came to play at late night including all staff members who had late night duty. The atmosphere was secular with no underlying discrimination. Our labs had all the latest technology with up-to-date equipment , the blood banks were well maintained and chemists had all the supplies of the vaccinations needed. Hospitals like Lok Nayak and Maulana medical college surrounded the campus.

Placement is not a proper word for dental students. Dentistry is a field where we create our own opportunities, if u can work hard, and you have a fare amount of working brain, you can always win the race. The college provides internship with monthly stipend around 10,000. Internship is very helpful for the junior doctors for their entrance exam preparation. They have to do some clinicals in internship.

The connection between oral cavity symptoms and many major life threatening diseases has been found out and is an area of growing interest, 3D printing can be used for dentures, and using plenipotentiary cells found in pulp can be used to cure many deadly malignant diseases theoretically. We have three internal exams each year for each subject, also practical exams. we have 3,4,3,8 subjects respectively in the first, second, third and final year of the course. Adding to the lab works we have to do,second and final years are quite hectic with absolutely no time for anything else. Talking about exam days, most of them, like the exams which got over in my academic life was cool.
