BTech Nanotechnology: What is About?

Nanotechnology, also known as nanotech, can be referred to as the manipulation of matter on a molecular, atomic, and supramolecular scale. Nanotechnology has the capability to increase the energy consumption efficiency, solve critical health ailments, and keep the environment clean.

  • Nanotechnology is measured in nanometers which equals to one-billionth of a meter. On such a small scale, the general law of physics, chemistry, and biology is no longer applicable.
  • Color, strengths, conductivity, and every other aspect react differently in the nanoscale.
  • Nanotechnology-designed products are stronger, cheaper, and smaller, yet have more productivity capability.
  • Nanotechnology is set to change the course of medical imaging, microelectronics, man-made polymers, and computer-aided engineering.

B.Tech Course Details:

Why Opt for BTech Nanotechnology?

In BTech Nanotechnology program, students will learn the basics of physics, biology, and chemistry on the nanometer scale, supplemented by courses on technology and engineering to promote an understanding of practical applications.

  • In the program, the students will also be able to specialize in a certain area.
  • Nanoscience has the potential to reshape the world around us. It could lead to revolutionary breakthroughs in fields ranging from manufacturing to healthcare.
  • Researchers are developing nanostructured filters that can remove virus cells and other impurities from water, which may ultimately help create clean, affordable, and abundant drinking water.
  • Students pursuing Nanotechnology will be studying to make the world a better place by designing more sustainable energy.
  • Curious and imaginative with a scientific frame of mind and a great deal of patience: the nanotechnology revolution will be fueled by years of painstaking research.
  • When you take a class on nanomaterials, you'll investigate their special properties. You'll learn how to measure and test them to find out, for example, how well they conduct electricity. You'll study both inorganic and organic materials and look at the interactions between them.

What is the BTech Nanotechnology Syllabus Admission Process?

To procure admission in one of the top BTech Nanotechnology colleges, students should achieve the minimum criteria given by their respective universities. Universities generally conduct entrance exams to shortlist the eligible students followed by a personal interview (PI) round. Some colleges provide merit-based admission and offer scholarships to deserving aspirants.

Given below are the basic steps regarding the admission process followed by the top colleges offering BTech Nanotechnology in India:

  • Step 1: Fill Out the Application Form
  • Step 2: Check the official website of the college for the entrance exam date (for merit-based admission, applicants can directly skip to Step 5)
  • Step 3: Collect the Admit Card
  • Step 4: Apply for the Entrance Exam
  • Step 5: Check the official website of the college for the exam result
  • Step 6: Upon selection, check for counseling/PI round date
  • Step 7: If selected, submit the admission fees and secure your admission.

What is the BTech Nanotechnology Eligibility Criteria?

Students who have successfully completed their 10+2 or equivalent degree with science stream from a recognized board with an aggregate marks of minimum 60% are eligible to apply for the course.

Aspirants need to further apply for entrance exams which depends on the requirement of the colleges.

Which BTech Nanotechnology Entrance Exams Are Held in India?

How to Prepare for the BTech Nanotechnology Entrance Exams?

The BTech Nanotechnology entrance exam syllabus consists of three sections - General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics and subject specific papers as chosen by students during the submission of application forms. The subjects for the exam include digital logic, computer organization and architecture, programming and data structures, algorithms, theory of computation, compiler design, operating system, databases, and computer networks.

  • To crack any entrance exam for admission in a good college to pursue BTech Nanotechnology, the following points should be kept in mind while preparing, because it is absolutely necessary to have a proper strategy.
  • To manage their personal and academic life well, students should prepare a timetable for proper allocation of time and energy.
  • There is no doubt that there is not a lack of resource books, however, not all of them are helpful - so choose the right books.
  • Solve past years’ question papers because there is no better way to learn and understand the examination pattern than solving question papers of previous years.
  • Instead of investing time in memorizing the notes, they should spend time on understanding the concept in a meaningful way because that is the knowledge that will stay with them forever, and not just till the exam is over.
  • While preparing, students should take breaks in between to calm down their mind that will help them to focus more on their course.
  • While they study, students should make sure to also train their mind for the exam by trying to solve the practice papers within the allocated time.

How to get Admission in a Good BTech Nanotechnology College?

Students that want to study BTech Nanotechnology at the top colleges in India have to keep the following points in mind:

  • Students have to keep in mind that they need to start planning early so that they can be prepared for their entrance exams, as well as the final exams for their master’s degree to meet the college’s eligibility criteria.
  • By scoring well in their final exams, and achieving a percentage that fits the eligibility criteria provided by the university, students can easily go through to the personal interview round.
  • Other than scoring well in their final exams, and entrance exams, students should also be well prepared for the personal interviews considering that most colleges conduct them, along with paying attention to examination scores.
  •  A student willing to pursue this course should have the passion and determination to study nanotechnology rigorously, and also be capable to take part in different kinds of research projects.
  •  Students should research about the colleges they want to attend as it is important that they are familiar with the website as well as their social media so that they can stay updated with the notices released.
  •  Talking to the college’s alumni is important so that students can gauge a better understanding of the university’s atmosphere, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of getting admission in that particular college.?

Its out firm belief at SRM Institute of Science and Technology known as SRM University. SRMIST central library is one of its kind installation that facilitates the teaching, learning, and research endeavors of our students, Most popular sports like basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, tennis, kabaddi, and badminton are played by a large number of students in the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a pass out of college, I can tell clearly if you are just focused on obtaining a job after the completion of B.Tech. For the number of students as per the 1:15 ratio, there should be around 66,500 teaching staff in the state, but under the new norm of 1:20, this needs only around 50,000.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course I chose for my bachelors was bachelors of technology in Nanotechnology. I chose this course because of the developing scope of Nanotechnology in the future, as it will lead the major world towards the breakthrough in the conventionally available technology at the moment. There were around 120 students in my department when I enrolled in the course and the total faculties available for teaching were around 25, so the ratio was around 1:5. Almost all the faculties were PHd in their field of work. The review test for grading the progress was done once in 30 days in the form of tests and assignments, whereas the end semester exams were held in 5 months.

Campus Life:

The annual fest used to happen once every in the month of March-April, it is a 3 days fest. This included all the events like tech, sports and fun activities, different departments present their field of work and fun games. University had a central library for all the departments on the campus, it had a variety of books be it prescribed in the course or other reference books. Annual sports function used to happen in August and September where all the departments compete with each other in different sports.
