BBA distance education is a popular alternative to full-time BBA Courses for students who wish to pursue BBA courses without attending classes in offline mode, or with their part-time/full-time jobs. There are many government or state colleges known for offering UGC-approved or AICTE accredited BBA distance education programs like IGNOU, Jamia Milia Islamia, Tamil Nadu Open University and UPRTOU Allahabad. Students with minimum qualifying marks in class 10+2 or a diploma after class 10 or class 12 are eligible for admission. Some Universities (IGNOU, TNOU Chennai) conduct entrance tests for admission to BBA courses. The average salary that is offered to candidates after postgraduation is INR 2 LPA – 5 LPA, which is likely to increase with expertise and work experience.

What is the Admission Process for BBA Distance Education?

  • In almost all of the BBA distance education institutions, admission is based on the merit of the previous qualifying examination (class 10, class 12, or diploma).
  • Some institutions like IGNOU conduct admission tests for BBA in service management, or Tamil Nadu Open University asks the candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria to take up TNOU BPP for six months. Check: TNOU Admission 
  • Some universities also accept diploma holders after class 10 or class 12 for admission to BBA distance education.
  • BBA distance education takes 3 years to complete, but some Universities such as YCMOU Nashik allow candidates to complete BBA within a period of 8 years.

BBA Distance Education in IGNOU

  • IGNOU New Delhi is an NCTE, AICTE recognized Institution that offers BBA distance education in two specializations: Retailing and Service Management.
  • Both of the programs are offered for a duration of 3 years, and to be eligible for admission in BBA distance education IGNOU, you need to pass the class 10+2 examination from a recognized board. The admission is purely based on merit for BBA in retailing.
  • BBA in service management is offered in collaboration with Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited. The admission is done on the basis of an entrance test for which the candidate needs to be 18 years of age as of January 01.

Ans. The placement scenario is quite good at NMIMS Mumbai. According to the reviews online, they provide ample opportunities for jobs in MNC’s. Lots of reputed companies visit the campus during their placement process choosing the deserving candidates. Hence the competition is usually high. But the one thing that students have shown their concern about are the salary packages offered. The data in the website is said to be inflated to attract more candidates. But in a more true sense the salary packages are really less than portrayed. The college claims to provide an average salary package ranging from 15-16 LPA, mostly the students are offered 9-10 LPA. The course BBA is really good and full of opportunities, but it is suggested that you complete MBA also to get a better salary package from a reputed company like KPMG, EY, American Express, ICICI Bank, etc. They have a highly experienced faculty, so  you will get to learn a lot.Read more
