Honest review about postgraduate government college sector 11

The classrooms are spacious and well ventilated.There is a girls room in the campus with Ac's ,sofas and proper space to study.
Every department is properly diveded. There is a canteen as well as a nescafe corner along with juice center etc.

Dislikes

Less placements and internship were introduced for the science students especially for medical students not a single placement.
Girls hostel and boys hostel are like 2 different world like boys hostel is just near the classes and everything but the girls one is kinda far and obviously more strict than the boys hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BSE medical course is somehow very much well planned and the more focused to what we've learned in our 11th and 12th standard, one can definitely say it's just an advanced version of what we have already started. Secondly, the improvement that the teachers could have done during the teaching methods. Were that they could have used more of the practical uh side of teaching instead of just focusing on theoretical or problem solving ways because the chemistry is well differentiated into practical as well as theoretical knowledge so more practical along with. Practical classes should be conducted. Similarly, botany zoology had a very vast syllabus, which could be overwhelming for few students. And similarly, the faculty didn't use much of the practical stuff to make the concepts clear, but still the facility that was provided for botany and zoology was experienced. And did their job the best way It is true that the curriculum designed does not prepares one for real world application

Post graduate government college Chandigarh sector 11 is one of the best college in Chandigarh full stop the faculty of the college is highly qualified and experienced. Teachers help students in academics as well as in their daily life also.
This college has one of the best infrastructure. Every class has smart boards and speakers. Classrooms are ventilated. Teachers opt for best teaching methods . College has really big ground and provides opportunities in sports to everyone.

Dislikes

College is really strict and disciplined . College committee does not entertain any indiscipline in matters of attendance and marks . You have to be regular in college for your own good
There are not AC ventilated rooms in college and it becomes really hard for students to focus in summers. Student also have to carry their ID card with them all the time. No entry will be done in college without ID cards

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BSc non medical have five subjects namely maths physics chemistry hcp and environment. There are three papers of physics chemistry as well as maths. To pass one subject student has to clear all three papers.

The sports grounds are very well maintained
Teachers are well qualified and teach very well

Dislikes

There is no official ground for cricket.
The seating accomodation of the canteen is too low

I have opted for a BSc non-medical. I thought of choosing this couse was just because of my love for science. There is roughly 1 teacher for each 100 students. All the faculty members are well qualified and have good teaching standards . The exams eere conducted recently from 21/09/2023 to 30/09/2023. The level of exams were moderate to difficult.

Merits and demerits of college.

Likes

There is peace in the college during elections also. Principal and staff are very cooperative with the students. Cleanliness of the campus. Peace in the campus. Common rooms for girls and most importantly sanitary machines in the campus for girls.
Infrastructure of the college is very good. Smart screens makes teaching quite simple and easy.

Dislikes

Some teachers are very rude with the students. Saturday also working day no holiday for second Saturday also. Auditorium is very small. Window enquiry is opened sometimes and sometimes it is closed.
Not proper guidance for the scholarships and there is no scholarship for the financially weak students. We didn't attend coaching when we are living in hosts because there are no outings for daily basis.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had chosen this course because for me bsc is the better fallback and it is my plan B for my career. The faculty members of our college are very helpful they talk and guide us very politely but there are some teachers on the college campus who talk in a very rough voice with students. Teachers in the first year taught very well and nicely but in the second year they only focused on completing the syllabus not on the things that students would be able to understand or not somehow some teachers are very good at teaching they taught us in a very unique and impressive manner.

Life in PGGC sector 11 chandigarh

Likes

I like the sports infrastructure and the vast ground provided. Many diffrent courts are constructed like tennis court, volleyball, handball etc.
I like the greenery of the college and the way they maintain all these plants and trees

Dislikes

They don't provide the equipment and things to play any kinds of sports. These are only provided to hostel students
The food prices in the canteen are above the prices which are decided by the college and the university

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to go ahead in the teaching line. There are many teachers in the college but there are a lot of students too. There are so many students that if all the students collectively one day come into the college then it wouldn't be able to accommodate all the students. Classes sometimes feel overcrowded. So I would say that the teacher-to-student ratio is 1:130 There is 1 teacher for approx 130 students The faculties are highly qualified and have deep knowledge of their subjects But I am not sure about their teaching methods Few teachers are good but other teachers just come into the class, speak from the book or scroll a pdf and go. They don't care if somebody understands or not. If someone points these things out then they say that ' you don't pay attention in the class, it's not the teacher's mistake' Term exams are taken once in the mid-semester and it's easy to pass in those

Fee Structure is good it is feasible and go maximum for 25000 for high courses per semester. BA is quite cheap and easy. Fee breakthrough is provided in the curriculum. And there are no such additional fees or anything Everything is transparent. My fee was 19000
