National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research is situated in Kolkata and was established in 1965. The institute was set up by the Dept. of Education, MHRD, Govt. of India as fully centrally funded autonomous institution with the purpose of providing pre & in-service training to the teachers and staff of Degree and Diploma level training institutions and also for conducting various activities related to quality improvement of the technical education system of the country. NITTTR envisions to be the lead resource institute for promoting excellence in technical education, management education and vocational education & training system. The Govt of India, in 2003, accorded national status to this institute in recognition of the contribution of these institutes for the expert service rendered for overall improvement of quality of Technical Education System. The focal activities of the institute are Education & Short-term Training, Curriculum Development, Learning Resources Development, Research & Development and Extension Services & Consultancy. The Institute also offers three AICTE approved Post Graduate Degree Programmes in Manufacturing Technology, Multimedia & Software Systems, and Mechatronics Engineering, leading to M.Tech Degree of West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).

The M.Tech course is a 2-year 4 semester full-time course. The first two semesters will cover theory and practical classes, while last two semesters will be for dissertation work. the course curriculum covers in depth to cater to the present and near future requirements of the Industry. we study in this course Design complex software systems,Develop complex software using DBMS,Develop software using,Object Oriented Technology Acquire, use and share knowledge using KMS etc.
M.Tech Mechatronics is a full-time 2 year course divided into 4 semesters. The first and the second semesters had subjects related to technical as well as management studies. The final year has specific subjects mechanical and analog engineering.
course curriculum of this course involves Metal Forming ,Casting & Welding,Machining Science and Machine Tools,Fluid Drives and Controls, Quality & Reliability Engineering,Automated Manufacturing System, Modern Manufacturing Processes,Finite Element Methods in Engineering,Product Design and Industrial Management . The first two semesters will cover theory and practical classes, while last two semesters will be for dissertation work. a normal day is hectic in college.
As far as course curriculum or course structure is considered, it is not so good.Our syllabus doesn't comprise all the present day development and technologies which we should have been taught in the college.Since the attendance is 75% compulsory, it becomes hectic to do all the classes with labs.
the course curriculum consist of the mechanical topics and the management topics that are important and need to be covered. the exams are generally conducted in november-december months and may-june, after end of the semesters.
Mater of technology in manufacturing engineering is a post graduate professional program which has the duration of 2 years and follows semester system. The course structure is very demanding and requires a lot of hard work. The days are usually tiring and exams are also hectic.
The course curriculum for Manufacturing Engineering was pretty solid. In the first year I had mostly general technical subjects from all domains. But, in the final year the specialisation subjects were added that included manufacturing processes and production.
Course is two years based that implies four semesters. Tests generally held in the long stretch of Nov-Dec odd semester and May-June even semester. The course in mtech is vast and it takes lots of time to design the course curriculum. The course is full of insights. And it provides the edge to the students. Excellent course curriculum. Students got to lean a lot.
the curriculum of course consists of the concepts divided into two year course, since it is a two year course, first year syllabus consist of technical knowledge and the management skills whereas the final year deals with the major research project.
