So far it's good. State rural livelihood Mission, start up like jai kisan, kpmg, kantar, Annapurna, etc. Consultant, young professional, micro finance mangers, supply chain mangers in agro forestry industries. Alumni network is strong and most if the placements are because of alumns
IIM Ranchi is the only new IIM to be categorized by T.I.M.E as AAA+ along with older IIMs like IIM I, IIM K, IIM S and few other top B-schools in the country and has also come under cluster 2 colleges of Career Launcher this year. It is worth it !!
The college had 100% of placement until 2019. Placement drive takes place in the first week of December. Any student qualifying the minimum ogpa criteria is allowed to sit for the placements. We have organization's like state rural livelihood missions, MP Rajya vanvikas nigam, sambodhi, BFIL, Aga Khan, TechnoServe, Foundation for MSME Clusters, MicroSave etc visiting our campus. Every year two rounds of mock placement rounds are conducted by the management to prep students for the placement.
Visiting companies are from a variety of sectors. Mainly microfinance, conservation, livelihood sectors. Placement process is seamless. Alumni network is very strong. Alums have reached at top positions after graduating from this institute.
Internship is a must thing for students. One needs to undergo interview process for being selected, and it is the college's responsibility for a student to get an internship. Placement opportunities are varied across different sectors one chooses as electives in 2nd year accordingly. 100% placement is guaranteed, since it being a government institute nothing remains for hiding.
You name the sector and its there in the placement record! Companies, for both SI and Placements, come here from sectors including but not limited to the development, wildlife, environment, market research, rural, corporate, NGOs, forestry, paper and pulp industries, microfinance, etc. UNDP, UNICEF, Annapurna, WWF, Kantar are some of our top-notch recruiters.
IIFM has a record of 100% placement since it's inception in 1988. Alums of IIFM are working in various sectors ranging from microfinance to consultancy to NGOs. Companies like WWF, UNICEF , EnY, KPMG, etc have come for placements and internships.
Yes. 10 weeks of the curriculum are dedicated for internships. Students are placed in varied sector ranging from Microfinance , other Banks to Environment and Development Consultancies, reputated NGOs, Wildlife etc. I am currently in my internship period at MP Tiger Foundation Society and my stipend is 30000 + 5000 performance based + some allowances
Yes, the college does provide internship. A group of students selected as Summer Internship Committee interact and call various companies for Summer Internship. The good thing is that everything is managed by the students themselves. It provides a great learning and networking opportunity to be carried for life. I was selected in a Skill Development organisation based out of Bhopal. I had to document a Standard Operating Procedure for the skill centres running under that organisation. It was a mix of desk based and field based job. I got a chance to learn how skill development in India works at the grassroot level. I visited various skill development centres in two states(Hyderabad and Bhopal) and studied how they function. For other students of my batch they got internships in reputed NGOs, Forest Departments, Consultancies, Microfinace Banks, Livelihood missions etc.
Placements are good in the institution. Around half of the batch is being placed in various Micro Finance Institutions since the last few years. Companies visiting the campus for placements and internships are fairly the same. Average package is around 7 lpa. Given the investment, it is a fairly good ROI. At IIFM, I secured an internship at UNDP and placement at BRLPS and PRADAN. During placement week one gets to explore from all kind of companies ranging from hospitality to consultancy to livelihoods.
