Government College, Hoshiarpur was established in 1927 as an intermediate college for studies. It is affiliated with Punjab University, Chandigarh, and recognised by UGC.
At the UG level, the college offers a B.Sc. in Agriculture and a B.A. in different streams for a duration of three years. To be eligible for admission to these courses the candidates must possess a 10+2 qualification with a minimum of 50% from a recognised board.
Admission to the B.Sc. program will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in PU-CET (UG). Admission to the B.A. program will be done on the basis of merit.
At the Criteria for PG level, the institute offers an M.A. with 6 specializations and an M.Sc. for a duration of two years. Admission to the M.A. program will be based on the merit list and graduation results from any recognised university.

Actually i think the main reason behind my decision is fee structure. Because my parents cant afford high fees. So the fees in this college is very reasonable and the method of teaching is very simple and understanding here.

The admission process is completely online and I got admission in 2020 the admission process is very simple and after registering I will get a message from the college in which there is my applicant I'd and the password for the college website is available. after some days I will get a message from the college that this is your roll no. and I got admission to college. Admission to college basically depend upon your percentage in the 12th class.
Student should have cleared class 12 with good marks about 60 percentage then he or she will be eligible to apply for the course.Application form is submitted online and fees is paid using net banking.if you want to apply offline then visit the department of college.
Eligibility of course is merit-based if your percentage is according to the merit list, you are eligible. Application for the course can be applied online via a cafe and payment can be done through net banking. Reservation benefits are also provided by the college. But you have to visit the college several times for the admission process, this is what I want them to improve.
The eligibility criteria for admission in BA is that you should have passed your class 10+2 examination with aggregate of 50% minimum .You will be asked to fill out the application form and upload the documents that are asked in the form. The selection is done on the basis of your percentage in 10+2 examination and a self examination done by the college.
The admissions are absolutely merit based. The conditions of admission are in accordance with the Panjab University. While your selection is merit based, the combination of your courses are your choice however, if you are planning to go for subjects such as Computer science, you must make sure to get them first due to limited seats availability.
