Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Admission will soon commence for various UG, PG, Doctoral, Post-Doctoral, and Diploma programs. Candidates aspiring to be admitted into a particular course at SKIMS have to appear in their respective entrance examinations. Individuals seeking admission to MBBS, MD/MS and DM/MCh have to qualify for NEET UG, NEET PG and NEET SS.
- Students aspiring to be admitted to the BSc Nursing/MSc Nursing/BSc/MSc must appear in the JKBOPEE, followed by counselling.
- Admission to diploma programs in streams such as DMLT, DMRT and DMRIT is based on the merit list.
- BOPEE conducts the JK NEET UG and NEET PG Counselling for MBBS and MD/MS admission.
- SKIMS reserves 15% of MBBS seats under the All India Quota, and 85% of seats are reserved under the State Quota.
Candidates clearing the entrance examination will have to sit for a counselling/personal interview. Individuals appearing for counselling must register on the official website of BOPEE (https://www.jkbopee.gov.in/). Jammu Kashmir NEET Counselling will be conducted in three rounds for admission to SKIMS. If seats are left vacant after the first round of JK NEET counselling, the second and mop-up rounds of counselling are conducted. Reservation is provided to socially weaker students and police personnel but in most cases, the seats remain unfulfilled and are converted to open merit during the final mop-up round so don't lose hope until the final round.

The academics of the college are excellent and at par with other medical colleges of the country,it is provided with excellent labs faculty, The hospital ( also known as jvc hospital ) has a good patient input and provides good exposure to the students, apart from this students are made to attend their final year classes and postings in skims source which is the only apex institution in the whole ut and amongst the best institutions in the country which exposes students to rare cases with the advantage of learning from the best of the best.

The total fee for the BSc in Nursing is INR 12,500 at the SKIMS, Srinagar. You must have done (10+2) or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any equivalent exam conducted by any State Board or Equivalent. He/She should have secured a minimum 50% Aggregate. All SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate.
