Placement:

Placement opportunities on campus are somewhat limited. It's common to search for jobs on platforms like LinkedIn or Indeed in Canada. LORs are crucial for job applications, so securing one from your professor is vital. Companies here prioritize Canadian education or work experience, often they don’t consider your experience from home country. Many start at entry-level positions, but that's acceptable. A software developer's starting salary typically ranges between 45k-60k CAD in Calgary, it might be more in Toronto or Vancouver.

My time at the university has been great. The faculty was always supportive, and I forged lasting bonds with my fellow grads. The skills I gained there played a pivotal role in helping me secure job.

Placement:

I have mentioned about the research opportunities above. Placement works differently. If you are getting a degree in something like computer science or finance, you are pretty much guaranteed a high paying job sooner or later

Internship:

I have not but I am currently working with the co-op department of the university to hopefully find something in my area of interest.

Every semester we do have a career fair that sees many companies for all around southern Alberta to give the student a bit of insight on what a job after university is going to look like and maybe an offer if they are lucky.

Internship:

In the business faculty, I know UofL offers semester-long co-ops that get students into the workforce in their specific major. I bet if you look hard enough there will be something in terms of a campus job.
