- Work term placements- Commerce program at MUN has a 100% work term placement rate. The placements are spread across provincial government, federal government, Private firm, crown corporation, and NGO offices,
- Inclusivity & Diversity- Even though MUN is in a not so immigrant populated province of Canada. The campus includes students from all around the world and they are treated well.,
- Same fee structure for all programs- You can choose to switch to any program in the future and having to pay the same fees.
- Dislikes:
- Weather in this province is one of the worst in Canada. Very Windy,
- Fee hikes. It used to be very affordable. Not anymore,
- The campus buildings could be better. Needs renovation
Placement:
There is a great chance of getting full-time job offer from your work term employer if your performance was adequate. Aprt from that, job competition can be very challenging. Learn skills and build a network in the Univeristy and among employers to secure a job.
Internship:
I worked for the Labour Relations Board for the provincial government in my first work term. I was paid 17.65$ per hour at 35 hours a week. The work was fairly easy but boring. I am currently interviewing with other companies for my next work term. I was able to get a part time job with LRB the next semester though.

- It’s one of the best Universities for my field and it’s also easy on the pockets as compared to others.
Placement:
A lot of multinational companies visit the campus every semester and a lot of students gets placed. The placement is 80%.
Great Infrastructure, Helpful Faculty, Amazing Vibe, Fun, Love to be there not a burden!

- Memorial University of Newfoundland is a well-reputed university and finds a place in the top universities of Canada. The reputation of the university comes from competent faculty and employability of its students.,
- My university with its faculty and students from diverse backgrounds and countries is a true microcosm of the international education world and thus the exemplary place for exposure. The faculty of the university is well known and provides leadership and bolsters the advancements in areas of research, planning and finest learning.,
- The university has a good reputation in the field of Computer Science with its experienced and renowned faculty and quality infrastructure providing a felicitous learning environment. The Computer Science course at the university has a balanced mixture of content, covering hardware, software, theory and practice.,
- The program also covers comprehensive learning about various sub-fields of Computer science such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Data Science, Cyber Security and more. The decision is turning out to be pretty good since I am able to get presitigious awards and Dean' list award as well in first year itself.
Placement:
Good! Lot of companies hire undergraduate students through the Coop program. The coop can be of various lengths from 8 to 12 to 16 months. The Research opportunities are also excellent and have various programs such as MUCEP which is Memorial Internship Program to do research. Percentage of students placed in CS is 95 percent. Median Salary - 75k CAD.
Internship:
Yes, I have opted to get a SURA research award for which you need to apply through the filling a form and then submitting it to Faculty of Science department which then selects the top 5 students and then give them the research award around 9000 Dollars.

- The Fee for almost all the courses is nominal compared to most other universities. Lot of funding for research-based programs especially. Also my course has the CO-OP facility which lets me work for about 8 months in an IT company as part of the course, which itself has a lot of advantages.,
- Apart from these the university has a lot of opportuities that students can explore and benefit from like entrepreneurial cell, get involved in research, TA opportunities which is easily available and accessible and many others like this.,
- The University has 0 tolerence for bullying, sexual harrasement or anything fo that sort. The other awesome thing abiut the university is evry single building or section in the university is connected via tunnel which is extremely useful during winters. And the university has almost all the courses.,
- "My main reason was fee. This is the universuty I would say in Canada which is excellent in education and gives us a masters degree not just any diploma degree like most colleges do, but all these at an affordable fee. Post education getting PR from this province is very easy compared to most other province. Getting part time is so much more easy."
- Dislikes:
- The number of courses that are offered in a semester for students to choose from is limited. Sometimes we might end up choosing a course just because we have to finish the credits. The location of the university is in Newfoundland which has extreme weather sometimes, especially in winter and the wind makes it very hard here.,
- Summer is like really less here. And also the province has fewer opportunities for computer science and IT. but these are all with respect to the location of the university.
Placement:
There is no placement like India. We have to apply for the job ourselves. However for COOP the university has COOP office that will guide you.
Internship:
Yes, next semester I am starting my COOP for 8 months. I am not at liberty to share the company name and the pay. However, I will be working for an IT company in downtown as a full stack developer for months. Usually the pay for COOP is between 20CAD to 40CAD per hour, and you will work weekly 40 hours and the pay is biweekly. Average pay is 25CAD.

- For doing masters in university the fees are less compared to the university which are on main land. The expertise that this university provides helps develop projects which are extracting oil offshore. Experienced professor make it easy to participate in international conferences and new research work which is being conducted.
- Dislikes:
- Although being a renowned institute producing multiple branch engineers this university is in remote location. Because of being in remote location it limit the industrial exposure and sometime this hurdles the incoming companies.
Placement:
Students do get placed in SLB, suncor or shell which are top most international oil company. The advantages of doing masters is degree credit and research work. But it also have disadvantage like not having mandatory internship which can help you gain industrial exposure.
Studying and completing your graduation in university is one of the never miss experience. Accumulation of study academic and involvement of extra activities makes it worth a try.

- "Fee is affordable. Location is remote and peaceful and the college infrastructure is good! The teachers are supportive and good transfer of knowledge. The onboard process was good and informative and good exposure to real market."
- Dislikes:
- The release of grades in a timely manner and some unresponsive professors. Had to send multiple emails and visits to get my grades which were finally released after almost two semesters. The wait times were very exhausting
Placement:
It’s good, have drives conducted in campus to understand the market. Hundreds of companies show up which help you understand what they are looking for.
Overall the experience was good! Had a great time except for the weather which is horrible.

- Newfoundland is a growing province that is rich in all kinds of Renewable source, especially wind energy. Memorial can support that process.,
- Fact that it is in NL is the best. They have all the resources for you to go great lengths. You just have to show interest and approach professor on how to proceed. Great ambience in the Dining hall, good opportunities for people who want to work part time job.,
- Faculty are very talented in terms of their subject and knows how to proceed with the problem you are facing. Highly accommodating labs when it comes to working projects. The lab assistants will go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care, trust me on that as they have helped me during a period of COVID 19 to help with my projects.
- Dislikes:
- Nothing much. I was the first batch of my course. They have done a beautiful job in segregating the kind of courses. They could do a little better and assess which subjects are more needed and should come in the must learn category since not all the students will be from a corresponding background to understand the subject.
Placement:
There are no placement offers that I know of for MASc programs. Would be great if they implemented such processes.
Internship:
Tried getting into an internship with many companies, but my time was very dark since its during COVID 19 and the opportunities were very limited.

- Good ranking and low tuition fees. Its in really small city. So daily expenses are less. People are known to be really friendly and welcoming
Placement:
There are some events where companies visit university but they don’t do hiring . Its more of networking event.
Internship:
Yes. I am currently doing my internship at startup OliverPOS. I am getting paid $22 an hour for that .
Placement:
Honestly, I haven't any more idea about this but if you have the skill and pass out from this well-known university, it definitely assists in-person professional life.
I select this University because of my course. It's only one university in Canada that offers Masc. safety& risk engineer course. Additionally, it's a renowned university in NL.
Placement:
.
Internship:
Yes, there are on campus jobs, such as working for the campus bar. The process is quite easy, and the staff are really great at helping work your hours around your class schedule. There are quite a few degrees as well that offer co-op, and I believe for some you can work directly with the university.
