University of Northern Colorado Application Process

Seeking admission at the University of Northern Colorado can be fairly selective, and hence the admissions requirements need to be followed strictly for securing a confirmation letter by the University authorities.

Undergraduate Student Admission

Primary Documents

• Official high school transcripts and certificates need to be submitted in an envelope sealed by the issuing institution or local ministry of education/ school.
• All documents issued in a foreign language must be accompanied by a certified literal and complete English translation.
• A third-party evaluation of foreign credentials will not be accepted. A WES evaluation report will be accepted if the report includes a copy of the official foreign credential. The university will still perform its own evaluation of the credential.
• Undergraduate applicants - a minimum of 2.5 GPA equivalent required
• English Language Proficiency Test scores for undergraduates programs:- ( TOEFL iBT – 72, IELTS - 6.0, English3 Proficiency Test – 60 E3PT)

General Admissions Deadlines

Fall Semester:- June 15th

Spring Semester:- November 15th

Summer Semester:- March 15th

These are the general deadlines for all undergraduate programs. The graduate programs and even some undergraduate programs might have different admissions deadlines. It is advised that international applicants must follow the specific course details before applying for admission.

Important:- If an applicant wants to be considered for a scholarship, then the application deadline is before March 1st.

Primary Documents

• Official transcripts, mark sheets, graduation certificates, and degree certificates from all colleges/universities attended need to be submitted in an envelope sealed by the issuing institution or local ministry of education.
• Official transcripts from the U.S. colleges/universities need to be sent to CNC directly from the institution’s Registrar’s office. Parchment and eScrip-Safe transcripts from U.S. institutions can be sent to international@unco.edu.
• All documents issued in a foreign language must be accompanied by a certified literal and complete English translation.
• A third-party evaluation of foreign credentials will not be accepted. A WES evaluation report will be accepted if the report includes a copy of the official foreign credential. The university will still perform its own evaluation of the credential.
• All documents submitted to us become the property of the Graduate School and International Admissions and will not be returned to the applicant.
• Graduate applicants – minimum 3.0 GPA equivalent required.
• English Language Proficiency Test scores for graduate programs:- ( TOEFL iBT – 80, IELTS - 6.5, English3 Proficiency Test – 67 E3PT)

Supplementary/ Optional Document Requirements

• A letter of Recommendation has to written and submitted by the Applicant’s School Counsellor and sent through the school.
• GRE Scores.
• Statement of Purpose.
• Supplemental Data Form.
• Audition and Interview, etc.

• Financial Documents:- Applicants need to provide proof of funding for one year of study at UNC. For the academic year 2023-2024 the amounts are:
  • $40,130 for graduate (master’s) applicants
  • $39,466 for undergraduate applicants
• Financial documents must be dated within the last six (6) months.
•  Passport Copy
• A clear, high-resolution photocopy of the bio-page (photo-page) of your passport
• If you are currently in the US please include a copy of your visa.

Note:- All these documents and requirements are program-specific, hence the desired program instructions must be carefully followed before the deadlines.
