What students say about California State University
Likes
- I think its good; there are a lot of classes offered that seem like they would be useful.
- Yes, they do, but they are mostly for upperclassmen, so I have not been able to participate.
- There is a great career center, and it seems like it is helpful to a lot of students.
- The parking pass at my school is the most expensive out of most universities, and the best part is that there is nowhere to park unless you go early.
- They all are knowledgeable, and most of them have worked in the field, which is very helpful.
- The communications program is one of the best in CA, and it is close to home and very cheap.
Dislike
- Getting placements or an internship through college is really tough, especially for international students

- I did my research before applying to this university. Cal states offer a wide range of course curriculum especially for MS CS and MS BA. CSUF is on top for MS BA according to US News and CSULB comes next. Both of them were in my top preferences.,
- California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) is a top choice for those seeking higher education in Southern California. My time at CSUF was enriching and diverse. I studied subjects like database management and cybersecurity, guided by expert and approachable faculty. The university's diverse student body encouraged collaboration, which improved my teamwork and communication skills.,
- CSUF's Information Systems program emphasizes research, and I had the privilege of working on various research projects, deepening my understanding of the subject.,
- The university's Career Center and Information Systems department actively helped students find internships and job opportunities, with networking events and career fairs connecting us to industry professionals.,
- CSUF's vibrant campus life offered a perfect balance between academics and extracurricular activities, from student clubs to workshops, enhancing my overall experience.
- Dislikes:
- Fewer or no scholarships are provided. Since the cost of living in Southern California is on the expensive side, it gets a little hard to manage your monthly budget if you're not working on campus. CSUF provides a wide range of employment opportunities for students, and there is a requirement almost all the time in the dining and parking areas on campus.
My time at CSUF has been a transformative journey. The challenging academics, supportive faculty, and vibrant campus life have provided me with invaluable knowledge and lifelong friendships. I've had opportunities to grow, explore my passions, and prepare for a successful future.

The communications program is one of the best in CA and it was close to home and very cheap. Compared to other colleges it was the best choice for me. I applied to basically all of the UCS and also CSUF and Csulb. I like being near where I grew up, and since my parents were moving to a different city I knew I would have my space.
I wanted to go to a UC but I was not accepted unfortunately so I opted for a California state university, even then it was not my first choice but I settled because they accepted me early. I don't know why I did that.
I was enthusiastic about the exercise science program they offered and how accredited the professors in the program were. Many of them have worked professionally with athletes who have become pro or made it to the Olympics.
Location and cost were what I was looking for, they also had the program I wanted and I got into the school. I also liked the campus environment and clubs that were offered and the general vibe of the campus was nice.
I chose this school because it was close to home, it was very reasonably priced tuition and it is a great school for those that aspire to be teachers. It also has a beautiful campus and the class sizes are small.
Because of the choices of course offered in this university. Also, the weather in California is similar to my native country. Also, there is also a lot of opportunity for on-campus involvement like Associated Students Incorporated. i.e ASI or other student organizations such as IEEE or fraternity clubs. The College also offers a decent fee structure.
