in Information Studies programs at the University of North Texas, students will focus on the knowledge, theory, and technology dealing with the collection of both traditional and digital information resources, and the user-oriented processes and methods involved in their manipulation, storage, dissemination, publication and retrieval. Students can build competencies in information science, library science, and data science.
Students can study in a variety of concentrations such as information organization, information architecture, human information behaviour and use, health informatics, knowledge management, and librarianship (including public or academic librarianship, and specialized areas such as medical, law, music, children and young adult, and school librarianship), archival science, modern information processing and retrieval systems, digitization, digital libraries, and emerging areas such as data science and data analytics, digital curation and data visualization.
