Academic Qualification

• A First-class (GPA 3.7–4.0) or strong upper second-class (GPA 3.5–3.69) undergraduate in a suitable science subject, typically in materials science, chemistry, physics, engineering, or mathematics.
• Other subjects may be accepted based on the chosen research area.

Country Specific Requirement

For a Strong Upper Second-Class Undergraduate degree:

• 4-year Degree: 60% (prestigious institutions) or 70% (others).
• 3-year Degree: 65% (prestigious) or 70% (others).
• Minimum GPA on Different Scale: (3.3/4.0), (5.0/7.0), (6.0/8.0), or (8.0/10.0).

For a First-Class Undergraduate Degree:

• 4-year Degree: 65% (prestigious) or 75% (others).
• 3-year Degree: 70% (prestigious) or 75% (others).
• Minimum GPA on Different Scale: (3.5/4.0), (5.5/7.0), (6.5/8.0), or (8.5/10.0).

Required GPA for USA Degrees

• Minimum GPA 3.5 out of 4.0 on a four-year bachelor's program.
• Normally, an overall grade of at least 65% is required for UK bachelor's or integrated undergraduate master's degrees.
• China: Overall degree mark of 85% on a four-year bachelor's degree from a Double First Class University department.

• Research Excellence: Ability to conduct original research and demonstrate creativity and initiative.
