Our staff has expertise in the fields of physiology, pharmacology, and neuroscience. They are actively engaged in research into the mechanisms involved in the consequences of:
- ischaemic heart disease
- placental pharmacology
- behavioral pharmacology in memory and learning
- signaling pathways
- receptor pharmacology.
This is a highly applied course in which practical work plays a major role. You will develop the scientific skills that industry employers are looking for.
- This course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology
- You will have the option to undertake a 12-month paid work placement in your third year. This is facilitated by a dedicated placement office and the School's excellent links with industry.
- The course has been designed to comply with the British Pharmacological Society guidelines for BSc (Hons) Pharmacology.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students require 12 years of school education and successful completion of a school leaving certificate equivalent to UK 'A' Levels.
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma is required.
- GCSE: Grade 4/C in English and Mathematics
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed their high school education from recognized institution.
- Or, completed a Diploma in relevant field.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
